Crochet Teapot Cosy

hola!
no os había enseñado la funda de ganchillo que hice para mi tetera,
aunque es un poco friki porque no tiene gorrito,
me gustó como quedaba y así la dejé.
utilicé una variante del punto concha, que se llama popcorn o puff stitch,
la verdad es que no sé cómo se llama en castellano,
no está mal el nombre de punto palomita de maíz...

más fundas de tetera bonitas y algunos tutoriales

el jueves empezó Carnestoltes y la gente se disfraza por la calle.
me gusta su Majestad el Rei Carnestoltes del cartel de este año,
es obra de Toni Camarasa :)

i still hadn't show you the crochetted teapot cozy i made,
it's a quite funny and useless without anything at the top... but i liked how it looked!
i made it with a popcorn or puff stitch.

hola! qué tal va todo?
yo estoy metida de pleno en los talleres,
haciendo muestras y preparando clases.
(esas muestras están bordadas utilizando algodón perlé de DMC sobre lino,
me encanta el contraste del hilo sobre esa tela)

en Casa Sagnier los martes por la mañana cosemos
delante de los ventanales, frente a los jardines, es lo más.
Mireia, Gabi, Begoña, Elsa, Irma y Ana
(Ana Sender, o malditanita. habéis visto su última colaboración para La Casita de Wendy?)
se lo están currando un montón y vamos probando un montón de versiones diferentes de los puntos clásicos. disfruto mucho de esas mañanas bordando.

hello there! hope all is well with you!
i'm almost totally focused on worshops these days,
making samples of stitches and preparing classes.
(the first sample is embroidered using DMC perle cotton #5 on linen, i love this combination of fabric and threads. perle cotton has a lovely bright)

i really enjoy tuesday morning embroidery workshops at Casa Sagnier.
this a very old and beautiful building with a small garden. it was built as a vacation house and it's really a joy to sit and sew at this sunny part of the house, full of large windows with lovely views.
i'm very lucky t have another great group attending to the course, Mireia, Gabi, Begoña, Elsa, Irma y Ana... (Ana Sender, or also known as malditanita.
have you seen her wonderful collaboration on the last La Casita de Wendy's collection?)
they do it very well, and we're are always testing and experimenting great stitches variations.

por cierto, ya tengo el último número de la revista Kireei!
el viernes me pasé por una de las reuniones de Tuppercraft,
y allí estaba Moon toda sonriente rodeada de un montón de cosas preciosas
como las de L'Obrador Xisqueta, Las coleccionistas, Happy Horn...
pues allí, entre todas estas maravillas estaba la revista Kireei,
junto al precioso El Costurero, (poco a poco vamos teniendo nuestras revistas dedicadas a este sector :))
y me la llevé a casa.
está preciosa: los contenidos, el diseño, las fotografías...
han hecho un trabajo genial!

psssh... he probado otra receta nueva de bizcocho,
la receta viene de estas black and white muffins de i love muffins,

by the way, i've already snapped the first printed issue of Kireei magazine!
i joined a public event of Tuppercraft last friday,
there i met sweet Moon amongst all those beautiful handmade items by L'Obrador Xisqueta,Las coleccionistas,Happy Horn... they was also another great spanish magazine we have about craft, El Costurero.
Kireei on paper is really amazing, interesting contents, great artists and crafters, lovely graphic desing and photos... an amazing work made by a lovely team!

shh... i've tested a new cake recipe,
it comes from this black and white muffins recipe by i love muffins.

Waiting for spring

muy buenos y fríos días :)
tengo un montón de libros nuevos chulísimos que enseñaros!
entre las navidades, cumpleaños y caprichillos poco a poco vamos llenando la casa de tesoros.

el primero es éste, "Brownie Groundhog and the February Fox".
hace poco fue el famoso día de la marmota, os acordáis de la peli "Atrapado en el tiempo"?
pues este cuento transcurre ese mismo día.
está ilustrado por Carmen Segovia,
(si no conocéis su trabajo podéis cotillear un poco en su web, su blog y su tienda)
es un libro con una edición super cuidada. me encanta, tanto la historia como las ilustraciones.
está lleno de nevados paisajes con cálidas texturas y dos protagonistas de lo más dulce.

importante: leer acompañado de un chocolate calentito con tostadas de mantequilla y canela (o hot cocoa & cinnamon toast, la comida favorita de Brownie la marmota)
y por favor... junto a una chimenea y bajo una mantita de lana!!

there was a long since i blogged about some of my purchases and we have a lot of beautiful treasuries around here right now!

first one is "Brownie Groundhog and the February Fox"
it's a beautiful book, both story and illustrations.
delicate and warm textures, snowy landscapes... and two sweet little characters' adventures on Groundhog Day (do you remember the movie? i always do)
lovely illustrated by Carmen Segovia.
check out her portfolio, blog and shop to see all the amazing worlds she creates.
book reviews recommend: "Just right for reading with a cup of cocoa and cinnamon toast… Brownie's favorite meal!"... and by a fireplace under a cozy plaid wool blanket ;)

me encantaron las historias de Elisa Riera (estas viñetas de la foto, os acordáis de El futuro es brillante?), y Jessica Boston + el ortiga.
hay una selección buenísima de autores!

i really enjoyed Elisa Riera 's (images above. did you know about Future looks so bright?)

y otro de mis grandes amores Maira Kalman,
la descubrí con uno de sus libros infantiles Ooh-la-la (Max is in love),
y desde entonces cada vez que veo algo nuevo suyo me alucina más y más.
adoro esa manera de pintar y esos colores, su humor
y el gusto que tiene para ensalzar las cosas más cotidianas,
y lo más kitsch :)
"The Principles of Uncertainty" es un recopilatorio de la columna que hace para el New York Times, una especie de diario documentado.

and the last one, my big-big love: Maira Kalman,
i discovered this artist by one of her children books
Ooh-la-la (Max is in love), and since then i'm always amazed by her artworks.
i adore how she paints, all those colors, her humor,
and her love for common and everyday little things...
well, her kitsch style :)
"The Principles of Uncertainty" is a compilation of Maira Kalman's New York Times columns,
something like a documented diary or a visual essay.

hace sellos muy chulos, y justo el domingo hizo un post sobre mis muñecas!

... y bueno, un bolso-casa que me chifla.
