encontré este precioso libro con la Srta. Nibble de Jane Pilgrim
en una librería de segunda mano.
la impresión es una pasada con unos colores super brillantes,
y la historia es muy graciosa,
me he enamorado de esta peluda tejedora
y con las historias de la Granja Blackberry.

me he encontrados a estos otros conejitos mientras navegaba por pinterest,
no me he podido resistir en enseñártelos!
espero que disfrutes de lo que queda del domingo.

what can i say about the book?
i simply love it!
the main character and the beautiful illustrations
caught me at the very first moment.
( yes! i'm a worms fan since Scarry's Lowly Worm!! )
love the design, with solid bold colors and lots of white
 that goes perfectly together with the simple story,
and a short and plain text.
besides, the story is really good too!
the book is about a very creative and stubborn worm,
 that wants an apple and all the adventures he's going through
while attempting to achieve that dream apple.
it's such a charming and naïve worm...
so full of silly ideas and failing plans
that make me smile.
(don't miss how he disguises himself!!)
even the end of the story is wonderful and unexpected.

libro bonito y gracioso a la vista!
Totó quiere la manzana
(tengo la versión en catalán,
En Totó vol la poma)
de Mathieu Lavoie.
el autor es cofundador y editor en Comme des Géants,
una editorial muy guay de Montreal, publican unos libros preciosos!
además he encontrado un post en este blog Minerva Reads
sobre el proceso de creación del libro que está muy bien.

qué te voy a contar sobre el libro?
me ha encantado! el gusanito protagonista me enamoró al instante,
porque soy una fan total de los gusanitos desde que
conocía a Gusi de Richard Scarry.
Las ilustraciones y diseño tan limpio,
con esas masas sólidas de colores y tanto blanco funcionan a la perfección
acompañando una historia muy sencilla y con poquito texto.
además la historia es buenísima,
cuenta la historia de Totó que es un gusano muy intrépido y creativo,
y sobre todo testarudo, que se ha encaprichado de una manzana
 y pasa las mil y una para conseguirla.
no te pierdas sus disfraces y cómo consigue disfrazarse,
genial ;)
tiene unas ocurrencias muy buenas y sus planes casi siempre fallan,
digo casi siempre porque al final...
bueno, no lo cuento, lo tendrás que descubrir,
el final también es muy bueno.

just discovered this charming book,
A Frog In Reflection by Kazuo Iwamura,
that won the Kodansha Prize
for Picture Books,
a brilliant calm book with precious details and humor
of how this little frog contemplates
the big questions of life.
Iwamura is one of the few authors of picture books
that has a museum in Japan dedicated to his work.
"the Ehon-No-Oka Art Museum (Picture-Book Hill Museum)
was made to be a place where visitors can enjoy
both the world of picture books and the nature of the outlying mountain
villages where such stories take place."
must visit it someday!!
really smitten by this lovely and funny character and his world.

acabo de descubrir este libro tan, y tan precioso,
Reflexiones de una ranita de Kazuo Iwamura,
ganador del Kodansha Award al mejor libro ilustrado.
es una narración lenta, sin una trama ni historia definida,
llena de preciosos detalles y de mucho humor
que nos muestra a esta graciosa ranita intentando
comprender el mundo que le rodea,
empezando por los detalles más insignificantes para llegar a
las grandes preguntas sobre la vida.
 pura filosofía llevada con mucho humor y un perfecto toque naïf.

Iwamura es uno de los pocos autores de libros ilustrados que tiene un museo
en Japón dedicado a su obra.
el Ehon-No-Oka Art Museum (Picture-Book Hill Museum)
es un museo en lo alto de una colina donde se pueden ver sus trabajos
y también conocer a fondo la naturaleza que lo rodea,
que es donde habitan sus personajes.
parece que hay actividades, rutas y una especie de granja.
lo tengo que visitar si alguna vez voy a Japón!

how is your autumn going?
we've been having some rainy days,
nice after a really dry summer.
so just thinking in going to ground and hibernate.
preparing myself for a cold winter
and doing a lot of yummy baking,
love to spend evenings like today
hearing the rain fall, making dolls, finishing season six of The walking dead
and reading...
got a new book illustrated, and this time also written,
by Axel Scheffler again in my hands.
(i blogged about him before)
The Bedtime Frog
a new Pip and Posy adventure.
love these funny characters!
a simple and sweet story with some amazing spreeds
and lovely illustrated bedtime rutines.
Scheffler characters and sets reminds me
my so admired Richard Scarry,
i don't know this is why i love them so much!
i've just found the author reading from one of his books

i'm preparing a new post with some yummy recipes,
i'm experimenting and baking again  :)

 qué tal va este tempestuoso mes de octubre?
yo ya empiezo a necesitar recluirme e hibernar,
estoy preparando mi cueva para el invierno y horneando cosas ricas
para pasarme tardes como las de estos últimos días bien arropada,
 oyendo como cae la lluvia,
haciendo mis muñecas, acabando la sexta temporada de The Walking Dead
y leyendo...
vuelvo a tener en mis manos otro librito ilustrado,
y esta vez también escrito por Axel Scheffler.
(hice un post hace un tiempo sobre este artista)
Una ranita para dormir
una nueva historia de Pip y Posy.
estos personajes me tienen encandilada!
la historia, muy sencilla y graciosa, que le sirve de excusa al autor
para regalarnos con unas dobles páginas preciosas
y diversas escenas ilustrando las rutinas de antes de irse a dormir.
estos personajes y la composición de los escenarios
me recuerdan un montón a Richard Scarry.
supongo que por eso me gustan tanto...
en este caso son escenarios más saturados y densos,
y los personajes son como autómatas con la mirada vacía
rozando un pelín la locura.
son más cómicos que los de Scarry
por eso me hacen tanta gracia.

estoy preparando un súper post con algunas recetillas
de mis experimentos culinarios,
a ver si consigo subirla pronto al blog!

 saqué algunos libros del 'Osito' de Else Holmelund de la biblioteca,
estas páginas son de 'Papá Oso vuelve a casa'
 ilustrado por Maurice Sendak en 1959.

are you, like me, an Anna Kovëcses fan?
can't resist pinning every illustration by this brilliant hungarian artist
when i find them on Pinterest.
love her simplicity and clever use of colors and shapes.
so talented!!

her book One Thousand Things is another of her beautiful creations.
it's a really lovely visual encyclopedia of first words,
i always loved this kind of books that makes you stare and enjoy every detail,
so enjoyable finding the little mouse on each page
surrounded by new things and words to see and say!

me encanta su simplicidad y el uso tan inteligente
que tiene de los colores y las formas,
tiene tanto talento!!

su libro Mil cosas es otra de sus maravillosas creaciones,
una enciclopedia visual de primeras palabras realmente bonita.
