finished this calligraphy embroidery
at the back of a new sweater just in time
for thursday's workshop!

we'll learn how to do hand embroidered lettering
to apply on  cloths and accessories.
write with stitches your favorite quotes, lyrics, or poems...
 for tattooing onto coats, bags or framing and hanging on the wall.

i've stitched the tittle of one of my favorite songs ever:
The Killing Moon by of Echo and the Bunnymen
using a very simple and naïf hand written typography.
i love how it worked out,
i'll adding more embroideries
on front side and sleeves.

he acabado este bordado caligráfico
en la espalda de esta sudadera justo a tiempo
para el taller de este jueves!

es uno de esos talleres que me gustan tanto,
aprenderemos a bordar letras y diferentes fuentes tipográficas
para aplicarlas en la ropa o accesorios.
escribiremos citas, letras de canciones o extractos de poemas...
para tatuarlos en abrigos y bolsos
o colgarlos del bastidor en la pared.

yo me he bordado el título de una de mis canciones preferidas de siempre:
The Killing Moon by of Echo and the Bunnymen
en esta tipografía infantil escrita a mano tan sencillita.
me encanta cómo ha quedado
seguiré añadiéndole más bordados en la parte delantera y mangas.

el taller de tipografía bordada lo haremos donde siempre,
el jueves 24 de 17 a 20h,
he programado otra fecha para este taller, entrado septiembre,
el jueves 14 de septiembre también de 17 a 20h.
ambos los haremos en mi cafetería preferida de Plaza Molina,
el sitio más acogedor del mundo para bordar.

so beautiful!!
my fav is The Wind in the Wilows
I didn't realize that it was embroidered first time i saw it, it was a very tiny pic,
but i fell in love inmediatly, looking for a bigger image i found an stunnish embroidery.
love the free style and how she combines colors and stitches!

you can enjoy the three covers in detail in the artist's flickr,
original sizes pics are wonderful!!!
You can see the backside of embroidery at the flyleaves!
brilliant.

habéis visto las nuevas portadas bordadas de Penguin?
son de Rachell Sumpter, me encantan.
son preciosas, sobre todo The Wind in the Willows,
 tiene un estilo muy fresco y suelto, además los colores y las combinaciones de puntadas en la vegetación son lo más.
encontré una imagen por internet muy pequeñita y me encantó,
busqué un poco para verla más grande,
cuando la ví me quedé alucinada porque que estaba bordada!
podéis verlas con detalle en el flickr de la artista.
las fotos en tamaño original son buenísimas.

además en el libro han impreso la parte de atrás del bordado en las guardas,
está genial!

 y curioseando por allí también encontré algunos bordados de su marido,
el pintor Jacob Magraw que bordó estas letras inspirado por ella,
aquí encontraréis una entrevista muy guay sobre este trabajo.
qué pedazo de pareja de artistas,
qué bonita inspiración.
igual os dá alguna idea si estáis pensando en bordar algunas tipografías ;)

ya se han programado los nuevos talleres de Duduá
y el viernes 16 toca el Monográfico de Tipografía Bordada,
de cinco a ocho de la tarde

con los hilos maravillosos y los bastidores de DMC.

estuve probando cosas nuevas para tener como ejemplo,
diferentes hilos, colores, soportes y diferentes tipografías,
mucha cosa geométrica y mucho negro.
