Gutter Fest / Zines

we've been enjoying two weekends of small publishers fairs:
Gutter Fest, and later Graf.
this year i only took there my printed stuff,
some fake watches and pendants.
Gabriel released his new zine NOWT / Aktion #4
we were sharing stand with our friend Irkus,
he has a new project of Riso printing and his zine Europa.
happy to meet there other friends like Teiera, Badabum, Apa Apa Comics, Fatbottom, Chin-Chin Records, Núria, Carmen, Andrea, Natàlia and Sofia.
great time and nice people :)

hemos estado disfrutando de dos fines de semanas
rodeados de comics y fanzines,
con el Gutter Fest y el Graf.
en el Graf no puede estar mucho como sólo es un  día...
pero el Gutter, por suerte, lo llegué a disfrutar un poco más.
no llevé mucha cosa, ya estoy escarmentada,
sólo llevé las cosas impresas, algún reloj de mentira y colgantes.
este año Gabi presentaba su nuevo fanzine  NOWT / Aktion #4,
compartíamos mesa con nuestro amigo Irkus que estaba allí con Medalariso y su nuevo fanzine Europa.
fue genial encontrarme con las chicas de Teiera, con Badabum, Apa Apa Comics, Fatbottom, Chin-Chin Records, Carmen y Andrea,
y pasar la tarde con Núria, Natàlia y Sofia!

Gutter Fest 2013 / Hangar

some pics from last year at the Gutter Fest,
i hadn't show you that beautiful place called Hangar.
it is one of the last old textile factory buildings left in barcelona,
it was turned to hold workspaces for artists in the late nineties,
it was one of my favorite neighborhoods full of creaky empty factories.
this building remains now surrounded by plots and new skyscrapers.
found a surprising treasure,
a red spot of poppies amongst that ruins. 

fotos del Gutter Fest del año pasado,
no os había enseñado este sitio tan bonito, el Hangar.
es una de las antiguas fábricas textiles que quedan en barcelona,
la reconvirtieron en estudios para artistas a finales de los noventa,
era uno de mis barrios preferidos lleno de fábricas antiguas,
vacío, pero lleno de cosas que recordaban su ajetreada vida anterior.
este edificio permanece ahora sólo, rodeado de solares vallados
y torres en construcción.
me encontré un tesoro por ahí escondido,
una pincelada de rojo,
preciosas amapolas entre las ruinas.

my friend Gabri of Editorial Morsa was really kind inviting me to share his stall,
this is his beautiful new book "Las pequeñas".

we were next to our other friends of Bang and Mamut Comics,
they are publishing some cool books for kids.

i was selling my first zine: Spot the difference!

and also Gabriel's zines
Monday Suicide and Chufi!

..

interesting talks like the one about International Comics
with Max, Irkus M. Zeberio & Misma.

we had fun selling and meeting friends, lovely people and interesting stuff at the GRAF Fair,
an independent and self publishing fair in Barcelona,
we needed from a long time an event like this to show and present the work of many talented artist and small press.
it was great and although it wasn't the right place to sell my stuff,
i always take so many time developing all the packaging, designing and drawing cards
that the graphic part of every piece becomes a very important part of the process,
so i enjoyed being surrounded by so many works on paper and paper lovers.

a principios de mayo estuvimos en la feria del GRAF  y nos lo pasamos pipa :)

estuvimos entre amigos, conocimos nuevos autores y disfrutamos con las novedades.

hacía ya tiempo que necesitábamos alguna feria como esta donde poder mostrar el trabajo de diferentes autores y las publicaciones de pequeñas editoriales.

hubo charlas y mesas redondas entorno al mundo del cómic y la autoedición.

estuvo muy bien aunque no fuera el sitio idóneo para vender mis cosillas,

mi amigo Gabri de Editorial Morsa me invitó a compartir stand en la feria

y como me implico tanto en la parte gráfica de mis cosas,

tanto en el diseño como en los dibujitos que incluyo en el packaging

me encontraba super a gusto rodeada de tanta obra impresa, fanzines, postales, posters, libros... y de tanto amante del papel!
y me alegré sobre todo por las visitas de amigos que se pasaron por la feria
para saludar y pasar un buen rato juntos :)

aproveché para vender mis pasatiempos de las 8 diferencias y los fanzines nuevos de Gabi :)

yo creo que no :)
los hermanos Amba, Mi, BB y Ogait que llevan el blog Mr. Spoqui
me han hecho una entrevista para el nuevo número
de su revista dedicado a los juegos (a la venta aquí).
han incluído las fotos de los ganadores del concurso de rollos de papel higiénico,
algunos relatos, dibujos, juegos... podéis ver más aquí

también han hecho mi retrato y un mini cómic inspirado en la entrevista!!
les ha salido genial, tienen tanto talento y sentido del humor...
me han hecho sentir como si hubiese sido invitada a su casa a comer un domingo
con toda la familia. tan guay :)

is there anything cooler than being invited to participate in a family magazine?
guess not :)
Amba, Mi, BB and Ogait, four lovely brothers who are running Mr. Spoqui blog,
interviewed me on their fabulous Family Magazine's last issue (available here).
including the toilet paper roll contest's winners (love how they look on black and white), brilliant stories, gorgeous drawings, funny games... You can look inside it here too.

they made a great portrait of me and a mini comic book inspired by the interview!!
they have gone great! with so much talent and sense of humor ...
i felt like being invited to their house for a family dinner on Sunday. so nice :)

ya os hablé de él anteriormente y participó en varios de los talleres
que hicimos en Duduá.
