Macrame Inspiration

just hang up the macrame plant hanger
i made on sunday at the Etsy workshop by Duduá,
i finally learned some basic knots to start experimenting!
my folksy cross-stitch wall hanging  that i made long ago (tutorial here)
looks great next to it, don't you think? ;)

ya tengo colgado en casa el macetero de macramé que hice
en el taller de Duduá de la reunión de bloggers del domingo.
por fin he podido ponerme a prender algunos nudos básicos,
la verdad es que es muy fácil,
creo que ahora empezaré a experimentar un poquito por mi cuenta
me ha encantado!
el organizador de pared bordado en punto de cruz,
que hice hace un tiempo en uno de mis tutoriales
queda perfecto colgado al lado ;)

hello there! hope the week started well for you :)
these pics are from Sunday meet up at betahaus,
Anna, Pat and  Anna Denise from Etsy Europe came to visit
the Etsy Community in Barcelona
so they joined a nice group of bloggers and arranged
with Duduá a macramé workshop.
it was fun crafty girls party perfect for a rainy day
we had a great time drinking vermut and eating yummy tapas.
as i don't get involved in many social events it was really nice
having a break from my daily work at home,
learning new textile technics and
chatting with lovely friends as Núria, Cristina, Carmen...
or Ingrid, Loly, Claudia, Charuca...
i met also bloggers that i didn't knew as Lorena from na sua lua
or the hanging plants,
pay a visit to all their links,
beautiful sites and inspiration guaranteed ;)

hoy por fin sale el sol un poquito por aquí :)
estas fotos son del domingo, de una fiesta para bloggers que organizó
el equipo de Etsy en betahaus.
organizaron un vermut con comida bien rica y
un taller de macramé impartido por Duduá
era el plan perfecto para un domingo lluvioso.
fui con Núria, Cristina, Carmen... y allí nos encontramos
con Ingrid, Loly, Claudia, Charuca...
excusas como ésta son ideales para salir a airearse un poco y
descansar del trabajo charlando con amigas y conociendo nuevas caras.

maybe you remember my Big Head happy wall hangers,
that apple and pear heads...
i've been working on them again, i made bodies
with long legs for them.
these pretty heads needed some pretty bodies!
they've been wishing them from so long...

puede que recuerdes mis colgadores de pared cabezudos,
aquella manazana y la pera...
he estado trabajando en ellas de nuevo,
les he hecho unos cuerpecitos
con unas largas piernas.
esas preciosas cabecitas pedían a gritos una curepecillo serrano!
lo llevan deseando tanto tiempo...

New Shop Update! ♥ Unicorn Dolls ♥

hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend!
two of these unicorn dolls,
the pink haired ones are just listed on my Etsy Shop!
Diana & Frida 
 are two unique unicorn dolls with golden horns
carefully handcrafted: hand embroidered, mended, felted...
i made them using beautiful vintage materials as old thrifted fabrics,
silk and wool, velvet trims and tiny felted, or frayed, patches.
they've got golden tiny spots of metallic paint sparked all around her silk horn,
along with other cute hand stitched decoration.
their wool hair is gathered at the back in messy ponytails.
hope you like them :)

acabo de subir a la tienda dos de estos preciosos unicornios,
los del pelo rosa :)

Diana y Frida.
estos unicornios tienen cuernos de seda dorada y están hechos,
cosidos, surcidos y bordados a mano.
he utilizado materiales antiguos: telas de segunda mano, cintas bonitas
y llevan pequeños parches de fieltro o telas deshilachadas.
tienen pequitas doradas hechas con pintura metálica
y otras decoraciones bordadas alrededor de sus cuernos.
tienen el pelo de lana, un tanto alborotado
y recogido en unas graciosas coletas.

NEW DIY! Sew a Bike Pannier Backpack from Old Jeans

here is a new DIY for upcycling old pants
into this convertible bike pannier backpack!
you just need an old pair of denim jeans or corduroy pants
and some colorful nylon or cotton straps
to make this super cool versatile military-style bag.
Don’t have a bike?
simply omit the steps to make the spring flap band
and straps for attaching the bag to the bike
and you've got a great upcycled backpack.

y unos pantalones de pana viejos.
Es muy-muy fácil de hacer!
