..

walking together carrying San Roque to his hermitage,
one of my favorite places.

there's some kind of magic
when people march together.
for me, as for many of the people,
it wasn't a religious matter
but the parade turned out to be itself a sort of spiritual thing.

hay algo mágico cuando la gente camina junta.
no partícipaba por el tema religioso
y aún así, esta marcha se convirtió por sí sola en
algo espiritual.

 and his embroiderer mother.
Francisca Artigues' makes her needleworks using
traditional Mallorcan embroidery stitches.
in this technique, a thin crochet hook substitutes her needle for
working tiny chain stitches in perlé cotton thread.

Enamorada de un artículo del El país semanal
sobre los bordados de la madre de Barceló.
Los bordados de Fancisca Artigues están hechos en el típico bordado mallorquín,
en el que la aguja es sustituida por un finísimo ganchillo
que se pincha sobre la tela para bordar cadenetas en hilo perlé.
