Snow

la nevada de la semana pasada hizo que la ciudad se disfrazase
tenías la sensación de estar en otra ciudad,
en un lugar lejano y desconocido.
todo era mágico y los niños se volvían locos,
algunos perros se quedaban parados en medio de la nada,
quizás nunca antes habían pisado la nieve...
fue muy bonito,
la parte negativa, que siempre la hay,
fue que un montón de árboles se partieron
y cayeron por el peso de la nieve.
pero por ahora prefiero quedarme con lo bueno.

esa camiseta es uno de los regalos que le hice a gabi para su cumple.
voy probando cositas por si algún día me decido a hacer totes y cosas serigrafiadas.
a ver qué va saliendo...

encore petite me premió hace unas semanas,
y ahora tengo que listar las 10 cosas que me hacen feliz,
soy bastante básica así que...
1. oler las nubes...
jeje, no
1. caminar y salir a correr bien temprano por la montaña, 2. comer, 3. mirar, regar, arreglar mis plantas, 4. bañarme en la costa brava en verano antes y después de comer, 5. una siesta en la playa después de bañarme al sol, 6. bailar, aunque ya no lo hago, 7. ir a los encantes en busca de nuevas telas, nuevos colores y texturas..., 8. tumbarme en el sofá junto a gabi con una mantita al final del día y ver la tele, 9. todo el proceso de hacer las muñecas, desde imaginar cada una de ellas, hacerles fotos para el blog hasta el momento de recibir vuestros bonitos emails explicando lo mucho que os gustan y que han llegado sanas y salvas de tan largo viaje; esos emails me hacen tan feliz... los guardo como tesoros, 10. las películas (dibujos animados, cuentos, personajes...) de los años 30s-50s.
serán 11, había olvidado el té con leche!!

the snowstorm from last week made the city look so different,
i felt like being in a remote place where i haven't been before.
it was magical and the children went wild,
dogs were staring bewildered in the middle of the street,
perhaps they never set foot on snow before...
it didn't snow that way from 1964
and many of us never had seen the city covered with such snow,
so nice,
the negative side, there's always one,
lot of trees fell down because of the weight of snow.
but hey, i prefer just looking on the bright side for now!

this t-shirt is one of the gabriel's birthday gifts i made,
just testing different designs to use on silk-screened totes and other stuff.

so these are 10 things that make me happy, i'm pretty basic so,
1. walking, do running on the mountain first thing in the morning, 2. eating, 3. to watch, water, look after my plants, 4. take a bath in the Costa Brava on summer before and after having lunch, 5. a nice siesta on the beach after being swimming for the whole day, 6. dancing, although I already don't use to dance, 7. go to the fleamarket for new fabrics, new colors and textures ..., 8. liying on the couch next to gabriel under a warm blanket watching tv at the end of the day , 9. the whole process of making the dolls, from first imagining each of them, making & shooting them for posting on the blog, until the moment i receive your lovely emails telling how you love them. knowing that they're all so well loved and safe at their new homes make me feel so happy... i keep them as the most precious treasures, 10. watching films (cartoons, stories, tales...) from 30s-50s.
just one more thing, number 11. tea with milk!!

Shop updated

el martes acompañé a mi madre al aeropuerto,
era un viaje de esos del inserso y la cola de gente mayor
era una larga línea en medio de una enorme sala.
todavía no había estado en la nueva terminal del aeropuerto,
y me chocó ver esas figuras dentro de un espacio tan moderno,
parecían fuera de contexto.
era tan curioso como el hecho de que volasen en un día tan gris a Tenerife
en busca del sol y del calor del carnaval.
justo al lado de la nueva terminal se veía la antigua torre de control,
con un diseño muy de los años 50s,
viejecita,
no sé lo que van a hacer con esa torre,
igual se libran de ella porque desentona.
aquí en barcelona todo está en proceso de lifting
todo tiene que ser nuevo, ser de diseño y estar a la última.
quizás por eso mis muñecas se van siempre tan lejos.
..
por fin he subido las muñecas a la tienda :)
aunque la lechuguita y la bombillita están reservadas.
si clicáis sobre las miniaturas iréis directamente a la tienda.

last tuesday i took my mother to the airport,
it was a seniors package tour and the long line
they all formed was just in the middle of that huge hall.
it was my first time at this new terminal, it's so cold and new,
those figures in such a new fashioned designed place shocked me,
the were absolutely out of context.
it was so odd as the fact that they were flying to Canary Islands
looking for sunlight and carnival warmth on a rainny day.
next to this place there's the old control tower,
a 50s styled buiding,
i don't know what are going to do about it,
maybe getting ride of it because it's "so old-fashioned"
and it's out of place.
everything's in facelift process here in barcelona
all has to be new, trendy...
maybe is beacause of this that my little dolls fly always so far away.

a que son una monada? pensé que quedarían perfectos
para dar un toque más auténtico al paisaje.
los venden aquí y los crean en esta bonita tienda-taller.
donde además organizan talleres de amigurumi.

por aquí sigue lloviendo, por suerte el tiempo nos dio una tregua este fin de semana y pude ponerme a hacer fotos. hoy me espera un largo día de trabajo.

it's still raining here, luckily the weather gave us a break this weekend, I took that opportunity and took some pictures. today will be a long day at work.

el vídeo lo descubrí por Gabi y no paro de entrar en Ebay buscando alguno de estos modelos. mirar el especial chicas de 1978 y el del 1981 son increíbles! o el de los chicos de 1980. los bailes finales no tienen precio :D

estoy de suerte!! son la cosa más graciosa que he visto en mucho tiempo.
