My peach tree and more...

os presento a mi melocotonero,

fue un regalo de mi hermano por mi cumpleaños,
me hizo muchísima ilusión
ahora ya está sin flores y están empezando a salir los melocotoncitos.
espero que sobreviva con tan poco espacio y en plena ciudad,
yo lo mimo todo cuanto puedo.
es el rey del balcón!
..
esta semana he estado probando cositas nuevas
para vender en una paradita el día de Sant Jordi,
o sea ayer, este post llega tarde ;)
(ya os contaré, por supuesto llevé la cámara)
..

it was a late birthday gift from my brother,
it made me really happy
there're no flowers now and little baby peaches are beginning to grow up
hope it survives on so little space! i make a fuss over my little tree
it's the king of the balcony!

this week i've been experimenting on new little things
a friend invited me to share a stall on the Ramblas on Sant Jordi's day,
and i've been the whole week working very hard to have some things to sell.
it was yesterday, this post comes late ;)
(i'll tell you, of course i took the camera with me)

buscando lanas naturales encontré estas preciosidades:
ovillos de Cormo, angora y mohair de Wool Handcrafts,
estos animalitos son los que crían ellos mismos para hacer esas lanas tan gustosas,
las ovejitas Bonnie, Bob, y Blossom (además tienen esos nombres!!
son unas postales que venden también en su tienda.
no puedo parar de mirarlos... me parece increíble que sean reales.
uff, me siento tan de ciudad...
..
os contaré mi último sueño:
yo viviría en una de esas casas, me da igual cual...
tendría muchas muñecas kokeshis y también muñecas de papel colgadas por todas partes,
un patio pequeñito donde viviesen felizmente todos esos animalitos,
tendría ese bolso lleno de mis cosas de costura y antiguedades varias,
rollo Mary Poppins...
me sentaría tranquilamente cosiendo esa elefantita
ytomando una taza de té calentita.
solo eso. no pido mucho, no? ;)

looking for natural mohair yarns
i found the Cormo/Angora/Kid Mohair Roving from Wool Handcrafts,
pictured is one of their rabbits and baby goats all of which
contributed their fiber for the roving,
and the last image is a set of postcards featuring their lambs:
Bonnie, Bob, and Blossom.
can't stop watching them! can't believe they are real
i feel such a city girl...
..
i'd wish to have one of these houses, any of them...
kokeshis and paper dolls all over the place,
a little backyard where all these beautiful animals coud live,
this pretty bag for carring all my lovely vintage toys and craft supplies,
as Mary Poppins did,
i'd sit quietly sewing this cute elephant stuffy and having a hot cup of tea.
just this. nothing else ;)

Making new dolls & saying byebye to the old ones

hay algunas muñecas nuevas a medias por casa,
ésta es doli paella, todavía le queda un poquito para estar acabada
con esos hilos todavía colgando tiene un punto poético, un pelín siniestro...

cuando las muñecas llevan mucho tiempo en casa nos acostumbramos a ellas
y el momento de prepararlas para el envío se hace extraño...
este fin de semana nos despedimos de doli tomato,
viaja a Reno, muy lejos.
es la doli número 5 y llevaba desde agosto de 2008 en casa,
apareciendo siempre en alguna que otra foto.
aunque con esa cara tan roja no era muy fotogénica.

le pedí a gabi que me hiciera una última fotografía con ella
para tenerla de recuerdo, él se prestó de modelo
para que yo pudiera ver cómo quedaba y si había suficiente luz...
y luego me fotografió a mí con ella.
casi siempre me gustan más las fotos en las que sale él,
las mías son más peripuestas.
pero qué se le va a hacer...
escondo mis manos porque no me gustan como quedan,
me tapo la cara porque no tengo un día bueno...

tengo la vista puesta en nuevas telas, nuevos colores,
más fresquitas, más claritos... bienvenida primavera! :D

there are some new half-finished dolls hanging around home,
this is doli paella, there's still a bit to go for being finished
these hanging threads make her look a little poetic or sinister...

we got used to dolls that have been at home for a long time
and the moment to prepare them for shipment is so strange...
last weekend we said goodbye to doli tomato
she travels to Reno, so far.
doli tomato is the fifth doll i've made and she's been at home from august 2008,
she's joined lots of parties, but her red face didn't look very nice on pictures...
so i could show her very often.

i asked Gabriel shooting me with her one last time,
i took him a photo first of all to test the scene, lighting...
and then he shooted us.
i prefer pictures where he appears they are more natural, mine are primmer.
but what can i do ... hiding my hands because i don't like how the doll and my fingers look when i hold her,
cutting my head because i have a bad day ...

i've an eye on new fabrics, bright and fresh colors

SiNo Project

últimamente dolo gigante está chupando cámara sin parar,
un día de éstos os lo tengo que presentar como es debido.
hace un par de semanas hice este montaje con él para un proyecto on-line
en el que también participan otros muchos artistas,
entre ellos Las Coleccionistas (me encanta su caSiNo), Nam, Leila Méndez, Nacho Valgañón, Silvia Prada, Takeshi Hamada, Setanta...

la iniciativa es de Slow Artworks (su No hecho con globos es precioso)
y se trata de una página web en la que aparecen aleatoriamente un Sí o un No hechos por diferentes artistas cada vez que se carga la página.
una buena ayuda extra para los que necesitamos tirar al aire un moneda de vez en cuando, o deshojar una margarita...
para decidir en esas situaciones tan y tan difíciles que nos suceden a lo largo de nuestro día!

dolo giant is starring so many pictures lately,
i've to introduce him properly one of these days
i shooted him a couple of weeks ago to join an on-line art project
which also involve many other artists as Las Coleccionistas (love their caSiNo), Nam, Leila Méndez, Nacho Valgañón, Silvia Prada, Takeshi Hamada, Setanta..
the project idea is by Slow Artworks (their No picture made with balloons is just great)
in this site each time the page loads one "Yes" or one "Not" made by different artists appear randomly.
i think it's a funny extra help for those (like me) who need to tosse or to be umming and ahhing about anything from time to time... just to take those really important decisions! hehe ;)
