One summer day at the coast

hola! qué tal el fin de semana?
nosotros hemos vuelto de nuestra escapada a la costa con las pilas bien cargadas,
el jueves estuvimos en las calas que hay junto a la playa de torre valentina,
necesitábamos un poco de sol, de luz, de verde y de azul.
el blog parece que también lo necesitaba,
así que he abierto las ventanas para que entre
un poco de aire fresco del exterior :)

el mar y las rocas,
el olor de los pinos y de la crema solar me transporta años atrás.
caminamos bordeando la costa,
nos bañamos y secamos al sol en las rocas,
comimos acompañados de nuestro salero y pimentero
regalo de Samedimanche ;)
dormimos una siesta a la sombra de los pinos
y nos dejamos llevar.

hi there! how is your weekend going?
we are back from our trip to the coast with the batteries well charged,
we drove to Sant Antoni de Calonge on thursday,
we needed a bit of sun, green and blue.
this blog needed it too, so i've open windows to let some
fresh air in :)

sea and rocks,
smell of pine trees and sun cream takes me long ago.
we walked along the coast
we swam and lyed on the rocks, to let ourselves dry in the sun,
we had lunch (we took Samedimanche's salt and pepper little friends with us)
napped under the shade of the pines and we let ourselves go.

la costa brava todavía conserva algunos rincones mágicos,
con historias y leyendas fascinanes.
por lo visto, las torres de Sant Antoni de Calonge
se erigieron en el siglo XVI para defenderse de los piratas.
la torre junto al mar alertaba con hogueras, o el toque de un cuerno,
o mediante pañuelo rojo a la torre más cercana,
y ésta otra enviaba el mensaje a la torre del pueblo.
y hay una historia que explica el ataque que sufrió el pueblo
en manos del pirata turco Barbarroja
(bueno, del segundo Barbarroja, su hermano) en 1543.
me ha sorprendido mucho mucho su historia,
parece que estos piratas eran inteligentes,
valientes y luchaban también por una causa,
todos contra los cristianos! ;)

la Costa Brava still preserves some magical places,
with amazing stories and legends.
Sant Antoni de Calonge's towers were built in the XVI century
to defend themselves against pirates.
the tower on the beach warned by fires, or a horn,
or a red handkerchief to the nearest tower,
and this one sent another message to the tower in town.
there's a story that tells how the turkish pirate Redbeard
attacked this village in 1543.
i've been surprised by their biography (two brothers, under the same nickname), it seems as they were brave and great men.

hola de nuevo! qué tal va el calorcito?
el otro día encontré unos palitos de polos que tenía guardados por ahí
y pensé que quedarían graciosos como collares, con unos ojos pintados
y agujeritos para colgarlos de una cadena.
siempre hay alguna cosa chula que hacer con esos palitos de madera.

New shop update! The Friendly Ghost summer edition

he subido unos cuantos fantasmitas a la tienda,
con nuevos colores de telas que he estado comprandondo últimamente,
amarillo limón, azul eléctrico, naranja butano, marrón chocolate...
y algunos colores que ya utilicé pero que me encantan,
el verde guisante, azul cielo...

(uff! acabo de encontrar esta guía de colores en inglés y es flipante!)
espero que paséis una feliz semana!!

new colors from the latest fabrics i''ve bought,
lemon yellow, dark powder blue, oranje-red, chocolate brown...
and came back with some other old colors as
napier green, light sky blue...

Some DIY! changing the front headlight of the car.

hola :), qué tal está yendo el fin de semana?
nosotros esta semana hemos estado cambiando el faro del coche,
alguién lo rompió estando aparcado.
el pobre coche tiene más años que algunas de mis amigas!! jeje
es super vintage ;),
pero es un tanque y funciona de maravilla.
fue más fácil de lo que me esperaba, y eso que no tenemos ni idea
lo difícil fué encontrar el faro de repuesto,
me llegué a patear 4 desguaces diferentes.
y curiosamente en ninguno de ellos había ni una mujer,
deben ser territorio de hombres :)
parece que las mujeres ni conduzcamos ni tengamos coche.
con lo que me gustan a mí estos sitios sucios y llenos de cosas...
me pasado gran parte de mi infancia jugando en talleres,
mi padre, mis tíos y mi hermano son mecánicos o planchistas,
así que lo debo llevar en la sangre :)

hello :) how's the weekend going?
we've been changing the headlight of the car this week,
someone broke it while parked.
poor car! it's older than some of my friends! hehe
a super vintage car ;)
but it's hard as a tank and it works great.
changing the headlight was easier than i expected, we had no idea of how to do it!
the hard part was finding the second hand headlight
i look for it in 4 different scrap yards.
and it's odd that there was no woman in any of them
definitely a men's world :)
it looks as women doesn't drive or own cars.
i love so much those dirty places full of crap...
i spent my childhood visiting and playing in garages,
my father, uncles and my brother are mechanics
so i guess it's in my blood
