uff! estoy preparando las fotos de los últimos talleres y
voy entrando en Pinterest para distraerme un poco.
una económica manera de poseer más cosas,
aunque sólo sean imágenes de cosas...
así sacio mi sed consumista.
estoy enferma, mi pinterest crece por momentos,
echar un vistazo si os habéis quedado con gans de más ;)

Embroidered Postcards

hola!
cómo va todo?
hace poco encontré estas dos postales super kitsch que me robaron el corazón porque estaban bordadas, tengo debilidad por las postales antiguas!
(esas de cadaqués descoloridas son tan bonitas...)
el caso es que tenía que preparar un taller sobre ilustración aplicando técnicas de bordado y me acordé de ellas. así que me he estado imprimiendo algunas imágenes com la de esta perrita, del increíble flickr de la Agence Eureka, para practicar un poco de bordado sobre postales retro.

este martes por la tarde a partir de las 18:30
estáis invitadísimos/as a venir a la Jornada de Talleres Abiertos de Casa Sagnier,
llevaré un montón de postalitas como la del perrito para bordar sobre ellas.
a ver si nnos quedan tan bonitas como éstas!
(por cierto acabo de darme cuenta de que ambos personajes tienen la misma posición, mi cabeza se divierte jugando sóla!!)

además utilizaremos hilos Mouliné de DMC,
que van perfectos para este tipo de bordado.
así,  bordaremos como reinas ;) qué más se puede pedir?
probaremos las diferentes técnicas de bordado sobre papel
y volveréis a casa bien contentas con vuestra postalita bordada.

también estará Cristina Moreno de Fem Manuals impartiendo el "Taller de paraules al vent",
habrá otro taller de cuenta cuentos y juegos, para niños y jóvenes.
las actividades son gratuitas, si no tenéis plan para esa tarde
os podéis pasar a saludarnos y quedaros a bordar un ratito con nosotras!

i found these stunning vintage embroidered postcards and i was immediately smitten by them.
(i have a thing for vintage postcards... these beautiful faded ones are of Cadaqués)
i was asked to arrange a new workshop about embroidery and illustration,
so i thought that it would be funny to embroider onto retro images and create amazing kistch postcards!
the workshop is part of an open house at Casa Sagnier,
 Cristina Moreno de Fem Manuals will be also arranging a workshop for children,
there'll be games and lots of activities.
and we have a great sponsor: DMC
that will provide us with gorgeous Mouliné.

everybody is invited to come to join us, we'll enjoy a wonderful crafty afternoon.
i've been printing some vintage images like this doggy lady, to practise embroidering onto cardboard.
(so many samples and unfinished proiects lately...)
i downloaded it from this gorgeous flickr by Agence Eureka.
(i just noticed that both characters on the last picture are standing at the same position... my mind is always having fun!! hehe)

me alegra mucho que os hayan gustado los nuevos totes!!

estoy muy enganchada a esto de la estampación casera,
ando liadísima preparando más muestras para el taller de customización de totes
del viernes en Duduá.
si os queréis apuntar todavía estáis a tiempo,

ya os enseñaré cómo van quedando con los detalles bordados ;)

hola!
acabo de subir a la tienda estos dos totes nuevos,
bastante diferentes entre sí, jeje
en ambos casos he combinado varias técnicas.
en una sellos caseros y pincel,
y en la otra he añadido aplicaciones con lana.
(muy bien sujetas, sin peligro de desprenderse ;)

la teterita es un dibujo mío que le gustaba mucho a gabi y se pinté en una camiseta,
pero le venía un poquillo estrecha,
así que la he acabado llevando yo y le he cogido cariño.

el tote con  las trenzas y el pompón fucsia (bastante fluor)
es una versión personal de Little Miss Sunshine,
el personaje de Roger Hargreaves.
ya llevo varias cosas hechas con las trenzas y el pompón,
es tan setentas...
si por mi fuera, se los añadiría a todo!!!

espero que acabéis bien el finde,
y que la Fuerza os acompañe toda la semana! ;)

i've just updated the shop with these two new tote bags,
so different from each other!
i mixed techniques,
homemade stamps + brush and brush + yarn appliques.

this teapot is a doodle i did that Gabriel loved very much
and i painted it on a t-shirt for his birthday,
but it was too tight for him...
so i end up wearing and loving it.

 the braided bag with neon pink pompom
is a personal version of Little Miss Sunshine,
the sweet Roger Hargreaves' character.
i've been making several things using this kind of yarn stuff,
very 70s,
as far as i'm concerned i would add braids
and pompom to everything!!!

cómo va todo?
hace ya tiempo que me llegó el último número de la revista Kireei, pero con tanto taller nuevo anunciado y las vacaciones, no he podido postearlo antes.

este número es aún más chulo que el anterior, viene cargadito de reportajes, de recetas, tutoriales... fotos bonitas y diseño impecable.
lleva dentro tantos amigos y conocidos que hojearla, se me hace muy entrañable,
el caso es que es un placer tener amigos con tanto talento, así da gusto fardar un poco ;)
como colaboradoras están mis queridas Coleccionistas, Caterina Pérez y Leire de Ameskeria,
y otras a  las que no conozco personalmente, pero sí a través de la red, como Cristina del blog de cocina Pimienta Rosa, o Esti de Pintameldia y Merche de Black Oveja.
..
otra cosa que os quería enseñar es el artículo sobre muñecos que sale en el último número de la revista cultural Calle 20. Me hizo mucha ilusión leerlo está genial, muy muy interesante :)
Luisa Bernal se lo ha currado un montón! Mis muñecas comparten páginas con las de Marta de Lana Pelana y Jipi Jipi. Podéis leer la revista completa online.

porque está enteramente dedicado a la costura, con entrevista a Julie Arkell, mil cosas bonitas entorno a este mundillo y una pequeña reseña a mis muñecas. estoy super contenta!

how was your week?
here are some pics of the latest issue of Kireei magazine, there are so many friends collaborating on there, that i really enjoyed reading them, their tips and tutorials.
i feel very lucky being surrounded by so many talented ladies as  Coleccionistas, Caterina Pérez and Leire from Ameskeria... and more blogger friends as Cristina from Pimienta Rosa, or Esti -Pintameldia and Merche - Black Oveja.
they've made an amazing job, this second issue is even better than the first one!
..
i also wanted to share with you another cool spanish magazine about urban culture,
it's called Calle 20.
this month issue  comes with a great feature about stuffies,
and my dolls are appearing together with Lana Pelana and Jipi Jipi's works! so great!

mil gracias por todos los comentarios tan guays en el último post,
espero que hayais empezado bien el verano!

nosotros estuvimos en cadaqués cinco días,
sin internet y sin trabajo!
tan sólo comiendo y durmiendo un montón, bañándonos en el mar
y haciendo muchas excursiones.
me llevé dos tipos de lecturas una para cada momento del día,
lectura bajo el sol: (una de mis preferidas de cuando era pequeña)
las aventuras del pato Donald, con sus sobrinitos y tío Gillito incluídos.

sin embargo, al caer la tarde y todo se vuelve sombrío...
me sentaba en las rocas y me adentraba en el mundo fantástico de Lovecraft
( leer con los pies en el agua, es lo más)

un montón de enormes y preciosos insectos nos han acompañado estos días,
incluso llegamos a ver un jabalí paseando tan tranquilo entre los olivos
detrás de la casa de Dalí en Portlligat.
y hemos tenido suerte, este año no había ni una medusa,
aunque no es de extrañar porque el agua estaba heladísima.

bueno, espero que os vaya muy bien la semana!

thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my latest post,
hope summer/winter started well for you!

we spent five wonderful days at  cadaqués,
no internet either work!
just lots of eating and sleeping, swimming and walking.
i took with me two different readings for each time of the day,
Donald Duck and family's adventures to read in the sun,
( one of my favorite as a child)
but as the sun set down and everything got gloomy i loved to sit on a rock,
letting waves splash on my feet while reading Lovecraft's stories.

big and beautiful bugs came to say hello,
we even saw a shy wild boar walking quietly among the olive trees near the road.
luckily we didn't meet any jellyfish,
hardly surprising because water was really frozen this time.

Homemade Stamps + Embroidery

hola! cómo va la semana?

espero que muy bien :)

he estado jugando un poco con sellos caseros, con formas geométricas de goma pegadas sobre tapones de corcho y tapones de plástico.
he utilizado los acrílicos que tenía en casa y he bordado encima algunos detalles,
y aquí tenéis el resultado!

después del experimento me he dado cuenta deque la estampación y el bordado
hacen muy buena pareja. son tan diferentes que se complementan.

el bordado aporta relieve, detalles delicados y la posibilidad de hacer líneas muy finas
a esas masas de color.
las cuentas negras como ojos y el pompón-plumero han sido la guinda final del pastel!

el miércoles 4 y el 11 de julio estaremos poniendo en práctica
estas mismas técnicas en Casa Sagnier,
cada persona se construirá sus propios sellos con materiales reciclados

y aprenderá cómo sacar el máximo partido a los diferentes puntos de bordado para

customizarse y darle un toque veraniego a su tote.

serán dos clases de 19h a 21h, el precio 17, 28 € + material 7€

con tote, material de bordado y estampación incluídos.
sólo necesitareis traer algunos tapones de corcho y de plástico que tengáis por casa :)
las inscripciones empezaron el lunes y hay plazas limitadas.

este Julio, Casa Sagnier viene cargadita de buenísimos talleres
más info y programación en su blog

y vosotras/os, os animáis a probarlo en casa?

hello! how is your week going?
hope it's going great :)
i've been playing with stamps that can be easily made at home,
geometric shapes glued on recycled corks and plastic bottle caps.
i used acrilyc paint for stamping, embroidered some details later
and... that's how it turned out!

after this experiment i realized that stamping and embroidering work very well together.
these are so different techniques that they complement themselves.
embroidered fine lines and raised stitched details show off beautifully stamped color areas.
beaded eyes and pompom stitch cap it all!

we'll be customizing totes using this techniques next july on Casa Sagnier,
i'm excited about what lovely summer totes people are going to create!
