i've just found the book "A house of 100 stories" by Toshio Iwai,
about a boy, Tochi, who loves to watch the stars,
that receives a nice invitation to play and watch the stars from a guy
who lives in a building that is 100 stories tall.
Tochi has to visit each level to reach the top of the house,
meeting different animals and how they live,
always guessing who is waiting for him at the top of the house.
it's like a road movie for kids, a video game,
also reminds me of those books about how things are built or how machines work
because you can watch all the inside.
graphics and colors are lovely,
as well as the little animals and things they do.
(have you seen the bats? and the spiders?? n . n)
it's full of imagination, so clever and funny...
check all the different escalators the author has created,
or where (and how) is placed the number of each floor!
it opens vertically and has to be read sideways,
you have to rotate it 90º.

this book is so special in everything that
i searched for the author to know more about him,
and i'm amazed of what I found
because Toshio Iwai is a famous japanish multimedia artist,
people call him the Peter Pan of digital culture,
he's nearly an icon of the first generation of digital artist.
i had heard about his Teneri-On instrument when he came to the Sonar in Barcelona,
but i didn't remembered his name.
he is the first multimedia artist that has created popular videogames for Nintendo
as Sound Fantasy and Elektroplankton...
(with bugs and other little creatures)
well he and his works are so magical and interesting...
that i have no words to explain how wonderful he is.

información sobre el autor, me llevé una gran sorpresa,
porque Toshio Iwai es un artista multimedia japonés súper famoso.
es el Peter Pan del arte digital y sus creaciones combinan
la música con el video arte y la interactividad.
había oído hablar del Teneri-On, un instrumento-consola
que mostró en el Sónar de Barcelona,
pero no me acordaba de su nombre y no lo relacioné con el libro.
es el creador de varios juegos míticos de Nintendo como
Sound Fantasy y Electroplankton,
también utilizando insectos y otros bichitos,
sus creaciones son tan mágicas que no tengo palabras para explicaros t
odas las cosas alucinantes que hace, mejor os dejo estos links :)

after reading about him and is work always related to music and sound,
i can imagine this book as a movie with the muted sound,
so i turn on the sound in my mind
and i enjoy all the laughs, little sounds of working machines,
conversations, music... wind...
then, this building becomes a noisy and living thing
with plenty of people making lots of things at the same time.
a beautiful orchestra.

la traducción del título no me acaba de gustar,
en inglés han traducido 100 historias, en lugar de pisos,
alude a lo que ocurre dentro de la casa,
que es siempre más interesante :)

las ilustraciones y los colores son super bonitas,
así como todos los personajes

el libro derrocha imaginación, sólo hay que fijarse en las diferentes
escaleras que ha creado el autor,
o cómo y dónde ha colocado los números de cada piso,
cuando lo leí por primera vez me dio la sensación de estar dentro de un video juego,
es como una road movie para niños,
combinado con los libros aquellos que te enseñaban el interior de los barcos,
o de cómo funcionaban las máquinas.
el libro es especial en todos los sentidos,
se tiene que girar para leerlo verticalmente!!

después de conocer un poco más su trabajo
y darme cuenta de la importancia que tiene la música y los sonidos en su obra,
este libro lo imagino como una película a la que le han quitado el volumen.
así que enciendo el botón del sonido en mi cabeza y empiezo a oír voces y risas,
sonidos de máquinas, de engranajes, música...
en el edificio ahora ocurren un montón de cosas a la vez,
está lleno de vecinos y de ruido.
el edificio está vivo.
es como una orquesta en plena función.
