hope you're having a super summer!
i would like to tell you about a film i watched recently on tv,
( still love watching tv sometimes,
specially on summer, when you get surprised by beautiful classics)
directed by the great spanish director Luis García Berlanga.
this is a beautiful film that shows society and the real life in Spain at that time.
some of my favorite spanish actors are working together with common people
giving the film a human and natural touch,
all combined with surreal situations, a naive story and lots of humor.
"Calabuch" is the name of the idyllic village where all the story goes,
shotted in the beautiful Peñíscola
before it turned to be the touristic place it is now, another reason for me to watch it.
love this film also by the utopia of a place
where people live happily in peace, respecting each other
and the naive idea of the early science that believed that progress
would always make a better world.

espero que el veranito esté yendo bien!
hace unas semanas ví por la tele,
( sí! todavía veo la tele, a pesar de la basurilla que lleva...
a veces me sorprende con clásicos de los buenos
y parece que en verano hacen sesiones especiales ;)
una peli que me encantó, me tocó la fibra,
no sé si la habáis visto, si no es así, os la recomiento!
se trata de Calabuch,
dirigida por el gran Berlanga.
me encantan ver estos clásicos españoles
porque son fotografías de la sociedad y las costumbres de la época,
pero además ésta es una película de esas mágicas con toques surrealistas,
con una historia y personajes de lo más naifs.
Calabuch es el nombre del idílico pueblo en el que como el mismo protagonista de la película díce:
- «En Calabuch, todo el mundo hace lo que le gusta.»
Sin importarle lo que otros piensen y vivendo todos en armonía.-

está rodada en Peñíscola antes de su transformación turística,
entre el reparto están algunos de mis actores favoritos y también vecinos de esa localidad,
y eso se nota, porque le dá ese toque de gracia y frescura.
lo que más me gusta de la peli es que
retrata la ingenuidad de una ciencia temprana
convencida de que el progreso y avance científico sólo traería beneficios
y que ayudarían a crear un mundo mejor.
demasiado bonito para ser realidad :)
tengo otra película por ahí guardada que también trata este tema.
