Karina Schaapman's Mouse Mansion

recently got a new children's book published by Blackiebooks,
Karina Schaapman's Mouse Mansion.
and got caught at the moment!
so precious and inspiring...
i'm so in love with this book, the building...
in love with Sam and Julia,
all the sets and charming details that keeps your eyes all time busy
and talk about their daily routine.
there's so much love and care on her artwork...
this crazy building is about two meters wide and three high,
has over a hundred rooms.
 she wanted to make something shabby and chic and she absolutely got it.
all the spaces are old, used... "time" is another character in this story.
another thing that makes me love this Mansion even more
is that everything is hand made, using recycled materials, vintage fabrics and clay.

the Mansion has been exhibited at the Amsterdam Hermitage Museum,
and many children all over the world have made their own version of it.
some schools have actually embraced it as a joint class project!

uff! tengo el libro: La Casa de los Ratones de Karina Schaapman
en mis manos, y no puedo parar de mirarlo.
es alucinante!
está publicado por Blackiebooks (en catalán y en castellano)
y la edición es preciosa,
es un libro grande, con las fotos enormes para no perder detalle,
un papel mate precioso que le da mucha calidez,
se nota que lo han publicado con mucho cariño.
y es que el universo de estos ratoncitos es flipante,
la autora ha construido un hogar enorme con mil detalles que le dan ese toque humano,
te hablan de esas pequeñas cosas que construyen la rutina diaria
y la personalidad de los personajes.
en su web cuenta que quería darle a la casa un toque desgastado y chic,
y lo ha conseguido porque el tiempo aparece en cada rincón, pared...
como otro personaje más.
otra cosa que me hace tilín es que todo está hecho a mano con materiales reciclados,
telas antiguas y modelado por ella con fimo.

el edificio es una verdadera obra de arte,
mide unos dos metro de ancho y tres de alto,
y tiene más de cien habitaciones...
ha estado expuesto en el Museu Hermitage de Amsterdam,
y es todo un fenómeno social.
está traducido a un montón de idiomas y algunos colegios han hecho sus propias
réplicas como proyecto de clase, encontrarás más info en su web.
además hay varios tutoriales para que empieces
a construir tu propia mansión.

Vintage Florals & Blueberry Scones

got some new treasures :)
obsessed with flowers, floral patterns...
 and also with baking
this time i've tried this blueberry scones recipe,
adapting it to blackberries ;)
and using rye flour.
rye bakes aren't so pretty but really yummy and healthier!

encontré nuevos tesoritos,
obsesionada con las flores, los estampados florales
y también por la repostería
esta vez he probado esta receta de scones con arándanos
que he cambiado por moras y por harina de centeno,
con el centeno todo queda menos bonito pero está igual o más bueno,
y más sano ;)

Vintage findings & Daisy Love

got very inspired by the beautiful findings i got
at a second hand store,
loving that old shell craft book and the embroidered napkin,
 those colors and patterns...
gabriel and me got a pair of vintage brooches at the cadaqués flea market,
we thought it would be very romantic wearing always and both of us
the same daisy.

uff! cómo me gustan las cosillas que encontré en una tienda de segunda mano,
el libro de manualidades con conchas y la servilleta bordada son una pasada,
y esos colores y estampados de la bandeja, el monedero y la jarrita...
gabi y yo nos compramos un pareja de broches
en el mercado de cadaqués,
pensamos que era muy romántico llevar siempre los dos
la misma margarita.

got some beauties from one of my favorite second hand store.
nice colors and fabrics,
applique, embroidery and prints with retro flowers.
and also found cream and pink pencils,
love mechanical pencils! (is it its real name?)
kind of silly things that bright my day.

compré retales de telas antiguas con colores y texturas super bonitas,
en una de mis tiendas de segunda mano preferidas,
flores retro aplicadas y bordadas, y otras impresas.
además encontré portaminas en crema y rosa,
que me encantan.
son esas cosas tontas que me alegran el día.
espero que os esté yendo muy bien la semana :)

he vuelto a estar un poco ausente,
me habéis tenido trabajando mucho últimamente! ;)

los Super Anillos han tenido mucho más éxito del que me esperaba,

(gracias a Handmade Charlotte por mencionarlo en su blog)

y he estado haciendo algunos más para la tienda y enviándolos en plan kamicace,

aunque no sé si llegarán a tiempo...

es tan guay que la gente compre anillos que vienen del fondo del mar
con el poder del amor eterno...

me hace muy feliz que la gente participe en este juego ;)

y como sigo con temática marinera he querido
que sea la última muñeca que hice:
doli la gatita pirata la que os felicite por San Valentín.

i've been off again, you've kept me really busy lately!
Super Ring has been very popular, amazilny more than i ever guessed.
(thanks to Handmade Charlotte for featuring it, it made my day!!)
i had to make a few more for the shop and send them quickly
i don't know if they'll arrive in time...

hola! espero que hayáis disfrutado del puente :)
me traje a casa esta muñequita en una de las últimas visitas que hice a los encantes.

os quiero presentar a una nueva parejita que se ha venido a vivir a casa,
Nancy y Sluggo,
por una vez las cosas que más nos gustan a Gabi y a mí se han materializado,
los personajes favoritos de Gabi y mi debilidad: los muñecos vintage.
los encontró Gabi en eBay, son increíbles, dan tan buen rollo!
son nuestro ojito derecho ;)
