Vintage Embroidery Books

Erica Wilson is one of my most admired embroidery artists
i longed to get any of her books and this summer i finally added her Embroidery Book to my cart.
i blogged some images of her needle works before,
but i think that i'll dedicate a single post to her lovely world in the future.

tenía muchísimas ganas de tener alguno de sus libros y este verano por fin añadí Embroidery Book a mi lista de la compra.
ya había posteado algunos de sus bordados pero tendré que dedicarle un post especial sólo para ella.

very excited with so many new stitches and retro inspiration.
i can't wait to share and practise  them on my next embroidery workshops.
 estoy super pillada con tantos puntos nuevos y tanta inspiración retro.
tengo unas ganas de ponerlos en práctica en los nuevos cursos de bordado...

falling in love with the other japanish books i ordered,
love all those brighten colors, big stitches and simple designs.
they make me want to start embroidering them all...
can you imagine to be able to stop doing all the things (you have to do) and start stitching?
stich and stitch... just forgetting time.
i used to think about the same question, but reading instead of stitching.
So we could spent the rest of our time just reading and stitching :)

enamorada también de los libros de bordado japo de los setenta-principios ochentas
flipo con esos colores tan vivos, las puntadas enormes y los diseños tan sencillos.
me hacen tener ganas de bordarlo todo ...
os imagináis poder dejar todo lo que tenéis que hacer y simplemente ponerse a bordar?
bordar y bordar... olvidándoos por completo del tiempo?
solía imaginarme esto siempre pero en lugar de bordando, leyendo.
así que propongo pasar el resto de nuestro tiempo leyendo y cosiendo :)

i've been busy with some orders from the shop,
no money either orders for screenprinting them...
i hand paint them so there's an original drawing on each tote bag,
i love painting this kettle :)
small bags and cases have been more popular lately
and the red square design is sold out.
black circle braided girl is waiting patiently at the shop
looking for a new home.

he estado haciendo algunos pedidos de la tienda,
como no hay dinero ni suficientes ventas como para hacer serigrafías...
las pinto a mano, así que hay un dibujo original en cada unos de esos totes,
me encanta pintar esta tetera :)

los bolsitos y fundas han tenido éxito últimamente
y el diseño con el cuadrado rojo se ha agotado.
la chica de las trenzas espera paciente en la tienda
buscando su nuevo hogar.

Crazy Working Place

here is my dinning room and working place at the same time.
our flat becomes a messy circus on every new craft project
and sometimes it takes several days to finish them!
shooting dummy parties has been really chaotic lately...
wishing to have a roomy studio to get it dirty ;)

cada vez que tengo que preparar un nuevo tutorial el piso se convierte en un circo,

a veces durante varios días...
me paso el tiempo montando y desmontando la mesa del comedor y el salón,
esto de fotografiar fiestas de mentira se ha vuelto realmente complicado...
quien tuviera uno de esos estudios kilométricos para enguarrarlo sin miedo ;)

Magic August

hello!
sometimes i think that august is the shortest month of the year...
it starts always with a huge to do list
but i'm just able to finish one or two things.
this year i worked on the new calendar (already finished!!! i can't wait to show it to you!!)
 with Richard Scarry and Mary Blair always on my working desk,
prepared some custom orders,
planned Christmas stuff...
and started several needle work projects for the shop.
et voilà! september arrived.

we had a very shy almost-guest,
this young sparrow was tempted for a long while to enter and pay a visit to our home,
i would invited him to a cup of tea and cake
but after considering it he flew off...
it's nice to dream about such special guest.

hola!
a  veces creo que agosto es el mes más corto del año,
siempre loempiezo con una lista larguísima de cosas para hacer
pero al final sólo soy capaz de acabar un par de ellas.
este año he estado trabajando en el nuevo calendario (que ya está listo! y no veo el moneto de enseñároslo!!)  con Richard Scarry y Mary Blair siempre en mi mesa de trabajo,
he preparado algunos encargos,  planeado algunas cosas para navidad...
y empecé varios proyectos de bordado para la tienda.
et voilà! septiembre ya llegó.

hemos tenido un tímido casi-invitado,
este joven gorrión estuvo tentado en entrar a casa y hacernos una visita,
le hubiese invitado a tomar una tacita de té y bizcoho,
pero tras sopesar la idea durante un rato... levantó el vuelo.
es agradable imaginarse teniendo un invitado tan especial.

perfect to fit in my serving plate.

just flipped shooting fake party sets,
lonely, empty, 80s, silent... weird.

we are still on time having picnics and enjoying outdoors!

un nuevo tutorial que he hecho para la maravillosa Handmade Charlotte,
para mantener a los bichitos lejos de nuestras comidas:
  "las mosquiteras para alimentos"
son muy fáciles de hacer con materiales reciclados y muy prácticas.

yo me he hecho una a medida para mis bizcochos.

me estoy quedando pillada haciendo fotos de detalles de fiestas falsas.
solitarias, vacías, silenciosas, ochenteras... super raras.

todavía estamos a tiempo de hacer algún que otro pícnic y disfrutar de meriendas al aire libre!
os deseo un largo feliz fin de verano :)
