dá gusto estar al aire libre.
a mi me va genial para salir a bordar y a coser al parque
estoy trabajando en unas cositas nuevas que pronto verán la luz!

Making Flowers for a dry Land

i wanted to show you some pics of what
and where i have been working on lately.
been going outside with my dolls very often,
making and embroidering all my wildflowers in the park,
a small hill with amazing views,
quiet and warm,
enjoying the sunlight.
it's really hard for me working at home making dolls in winter,
there's not natural light enough to enjoy stitching.
so i decided to go out looking for some beautiful light
that warms my mind and my heart.
i love to feel fresh air, hear the sound of the wind through the leaves,
birds...

it's really nice being outside,
it seems that winter didn't come to visit barcelona this year,
no cold, no clouds...
no rain!
the city is experiences its longer dry spell in over 100 years,
it doesn't rain from the last 95 days!
we've reached the last record
1928 was the longest period without rain (85 days).
it's sad to see the land so dry,
no green and a lot of dust and pollution.

so i'm very proud and happy to make flowers,
even they are just dolls,
to color this place.
been watering and taking care of my wildflowers,
so they look pretty before i list them on the shop.

quería enseñaros algunas fotos de lo que he estado haciendo últimamente
y dónde lo he estado haciendo.
he estado saliendo bastante a la montaña que hay al lado de casa
para hacer las flores,
he estado bordándolas disfrutando del buen tiempo y de las vistas.
necesito luz natural, notar el aire, escuchar el sonido de las hojas y los árboles, los pajaritos...
se me hace imposible coser en casa durante el invierno,
hay tan poca luz natural...
y estos días se está tan bien fuera de casa!

este año parece que el invierno se ha olvidado de pasar por aquí,
el invierno y la lluvia.
es una pasada! hemos batido el récord de 1928 de 85 días sin llover,
ya vamos por el día 96.
es un poco triste ver el paisaje tan seco,
con tanto polvo y contaminación.

así que estoy muy contenta y orgullosa de estar haciendo flores,
aunque sean muñecas,
para alegrar un poco el lugar.
las he estado regando y cuidando
para que estén bien bonitas cuando las suba a la tienda.

espero que disfrutéis de un maravilloso fin de semana :)

Shop Update! Missy Pineapple & Missy Watermelon

i made their heads a little smaller than the wall hangers fruits,
added a cute body
and long legs for a nice sitting.

frutitas bien frescas para este verano:
la señorita piña
y
la señorita sandía

les hice las cabecitas más pequeñas que las de los colgadores
añadí cuerpecitos con largas piernas para que se pudieran sentar.

espero que te alegren el día!

Missy Waternelon Doll

say hello to Missy Watermelon!
a sweetie with pink ponytails and white daisies.

love fresh watermelon in summer so much that
i made a watermelon hook
and this doll later.

i made a smaller head for this new doll and made a body with long legs,
now she can sit and decorate your place or shelf.

i added some hand bead needlework,
to get a fancy look of seeds.
her face is hand embroidered and has stitched freckle black beads all over the face.
eyes are painted wooden pieces glued to the fabric.
her ponytails are made from pink yarn held by felt daisies.
wears a retro mint green embroidered dress with a lace collar.
her legs are in white and red stripes.
made with vintage fabric, yarn and felt
signed on his back and stuffed with polyfill,
and she's waiting for you at my shop :)

saluda a la señorita sandía!
todo un encanto con sus coletas rosas y sus margaritas.

me encanta la sandía bien fresquita en verano,
por eso hice el colgador de pared y ahora esta muñequita.

tiene una cabeza más pequeña que el colgador y un cuerpo con largas piernas,
así puede sentarse y decorar tu rincón preferido,
un mueble o una estantería.

la carita está bordada a mano con algunas cuentas a modo de pepitas.
los ojos son de madera pintada.
las coletas son de lana rosa y están recogidas con una margarita,
lleva un vestidito verde menta bordado con un cuello de puntilla blanco muy retro
y lleva medias de rayas rojas.
las telas y fieltro que he utlizado son antiguos,
está rellena de guata y firmada por detrás
y te está esperando en mi tienda :)

Missy Pineapple Doll

a fresh summer sweetie with golden sequins.

love pineapples,
i've been making some pineapples lately
and it looks as i get never tired of making them,
doli pineapple (link here and here) and her paper doll came first,
and after came this pineapple wall hook.

i made a smaller hook head for this new doll and added a body with long legs.
she can sit and decorate your place and shelf :)
as for the wall hanger I also added some hand bead needlework.
i've been playing with different materials to get a fancy look of seeds and textures.
her face is hand embroidered and has hand stitched golden sequins all over the face.
her big eyes are painted wooden pieces glued to the fabric.
her green leaves on top are like a big ponytail decorated with a pink felt flower.
wears a cute pale pink embroidered dress with a neck collar and pompoms.
 legs are made from a lovely mustard wool fabric.
made with vintage fabric, wool and felt
it's signed on his back and stuffed with polyfill...
and she's waiting for you at my shop :)

saluda a esta señorita piña!
una frutita muy fresca de verano con lentejuelas doradas.

me encantan las piñas,
ya llevo unas cuantas y no me canso nunca de hacerlas,
primero vino doli piña (link aquí y aquí) con su versión en papel
y luego el colgador de pared.

esta muñeca la he hecho con una cabecita más pequeña que la del colgador,
y le he añadido un cuerpo con largas piernas
para poder sentarla sobre un mueble o una estantería
y que decore tu rincón favorito.
la carita está bordada a mano y le he añadido lentejuelas
y unos ojos grandes de madera pintada.
lleva una especie de coletita con una flor de fieltro que recoge
las hojitas verdes que coronan su cabeza.
un vestido rosa palo bordado con un cuello decorado con pompones
y leotardos de lana color mostaza.
la hice con telas antiguas, de lana, algodón y fieltro
está firmada por detrás y te esperando en mi tienda :)
