en un rincón de ademuz que empieza por v
y acaba en un valle,
el paisaje de casas de piedra encaladas
estos días sabía a nata y chocolate,
a veces a nata con un toque de menta.
madera, piedra, musgo, algodón...
espolvoreado con azúcar glasé.

Una bola pinchada en un palo (Lollipops)

estos días he estado preparando unas felicitaciones
de año nuevo para emedemarta, natalia y la araña tecla.
el otro día celebramos una merienda en casa de marta
y aproveché la ocasión: chocolate caliente, ensaimadas...
hacía tiempo que quería probar mis amigurumis peluditos
pinchados en un palo, como si fueran chupachups.
les añadí unos lacitos y colgué la felicitación.
i've been preparing some greeting cards
for emedemarta, natalia and la araña tecla.
we had a teaparty at marta's home
it was the perfect moment: hot chocolate, cakes ...
i wanted to test my furry amigurumis
punched by a wooden stick, as lollipops.
i tied little ribbon bows and hung the geeting cards.

The Lonely Doll

éste es otro de los libros que encontré

en una librería perdida de NY
"A Gift from the Lonely Doll"de Dare Wright,
fué publicado por primera vez en 1966
pertenece a una serie de 18 libros en los que
Dare fotografió a Edith
acompañada de sus amigos osos.
Edith era una muñeca Lenci de fieltro
que le compró su madre en los almacenes Halle
y según algunas biografías ella misma
confeccionaba toda su ropa.

en mi libro Edith teje una bufanda de regalo
y claro, eso me llegó al alma.
como la historia es muy navideña os la he subido enterita aquí

this is one of the books i found in a lost library in NY
"A Gift from the Lonely Doll" by Dare Wright
first published in 1966 it belongs to a series
of 18 books in which Dare photographed
her doll called Edith along with two teddy bears.
Edith was a Lenci felt doll her mother bought
at Halle's Departmen Store
and according to some biographies
Dare made all her clothes by her hand.

in this book Edith knittes a scarf as a gift
and of course, it touched me a lot.

Curioseando en Etsy

todavía no os había hablado de uno de los días
más emocionantes de mi viaje a Nueva York,
buscando en internet tiendas craftis
encontré la dirección de lo que parecía ser
la tienda de Etsy en Brooklyn.
cuando llegamos allí no tenía pinta de ser ninguna tienda.
pero la puerta estaba abierta y no pude aguantar la tentación
de asomar la cabeza y cotillear.
cuando se dieron cuenta de que estábamos allí,
(al parecer les hicimos gracia:
unos colgados de barcelona más perdidos que el jueves)
nos enseñaron parte de las oficinas
y los talleres donde hacen los cursos.
la verdad es que fue divertido,
y aproveché, a pesar de mi enorme ataque de vergüenza,
para hacer de reportera dicharachera.
i haven't spoken yet about the most exciting day in New York,
i was looking for crafty shops and i found the address
of what appeared to be the Etsy shop in Brooklyn.
but when we arrived there it didn't look as a shop.
the door was open and i couldn't hold back
to stuck my head in and snoop around.
when they saw us (maybe they thought it was funny:
a very lost weird catalan couple )
they show us the offices and the workshops.
we had a nice time, and i took advantage of it,
despite my huge shame attack, and i took some photos.

por Bre (un tipo bastante divertido!)
por lo visto teníamos que pringar de alguna manera...

salimos con uno de estos totes de regalo!

they gave us one of these totes as a gift,
(this remainded me that old schooldays guided tours)

nuestra maestra de ceremonias fue Danielle,
(tiene una tienda-galería preciosa en Brooklyn,
pero eso lo dejaré para otro post)

nos mostró los talleres donde imparten los cursos.

es gracioso encontrarse con el lugar físico
donde se cuece todo, no?
desde entonces veo Etsy mucho más casero,
creo que me gusta aún más.

cada vez que veo algún libro de esta colección,
caigo rendida a sus pies,
en especial los de Walt disney de antes de los 60s.
estoy intentando coger el truquillo
al corel painter y emular (por no decir fusilar)
a todos esos genios,
seguramente moriré en el intento...
o dejaré de intentarlo.

Patrón cabrita

sigo con los patrones de aquel libro setentero de hace tiempo,
esta vez de una tierna cabrita.
lo mejor de todo es el patrón,
quién no se va a atrever a hacer algo que parece tan sencillo?
desde luego los patrones de mis dolis
no tienen nada que envidiar a éste,
un día os los enseñaré para que os riáis un poco.

yo me animaré a hacerlo, pero no sé cuando.

Una navidad de las de antes

no es que me quiera anticipar...
pero tenía pendiente un post,
dos de los libros que traje conmigo del viaje.
uno de papeles de regalos de los 60s
y otro de tarjetas de felicitación de la misma época.
se acercan estas fiestas
y quizás os ayuda a decorar algún regalo
o felicitar a alguien.
