sun break,
a perfect misty day for a long and quiet walk along the seaside.
/
today the sun has gone away again to take rest
 it's a beautiful cloudy and chilly saturday in barcelona.
have a happy weekend!

día de niebla perfecto para dar un largo y tranquilo paseo por la costa.

hoy el sol parece que se ha vuelto a ir de vacaciones
hace un precioso día nublado y fresquito en barcelona.

A new start / Cadaqués

we've been spending some days at Cadaqués,
our personal paradise.
we needed a break, swim and stare at the seaside.
this time we slept at the beach, surrounded by olive trees or even pines,
so we were waked up really soon by the crazy and loud sound of the seagulls
and we felt lucky watching amazing sunrises.
days were long and we walked, enjoyed nature and a lovely weather
away from computers, people and work.
days ended on the beach with some wine or beer,
watching all turned pink and purple and saying hello to a beautiful moon.
breaks like this are good for a nice start,
better than a symbolic new year,
a true re born.

hemos pasado unos días en Cadaqués,
nuestro paraíso.
necesitábamos un descanso, nadar y disfrutar del mar y el aire libre.
esta vez hemos dormido en la playa, bajo unos pinos y también rodeados de olivos,
así que nos hemos despertado super pronto con el sonido de las gaviotas que parecían haberse vuelto locas y disfrutamos viendo unos amaneceres de película.
los días eran largos y caminábamos,
dejándonos llevar por la brisa, el sol y las calas bonitas
que encontrábamos en el camino.
los días acababan en la playa con vino o unas cervecitas,
viendo como todo se tornaba, rosa y púrpura
y saludando a la luna.
descansos como éstos son buenos para comenzar de nuevo,
mejores que un simbólico año nuevo,
un verdadero renacer.

hola! :)
mil gracias por todos los comentarios tan guays en el último post,
espero que hayais empezado bien el verano!

nosotros estuvimos en cadaqués cinco días,
sin internet y sin trabajo!
tan sólo comiendo y durmiendo un montón, bañándonos en el mar
y haciendo muchas excursiones.
me llevé dos tipos de lecturas una para cada momento del día,
lectura bajo el sol: (una de mis preferidas de cuando era pequeña)
las aventuras del pato Donald, con sus sobrinitos y tío Gillito incluídos.

sin embargo, al caer la tarde y todo se vuelve sombrío...
me sentaba en las rocas y me adentraba en el mundo fantástico de Lovecraft
( leer con los pies en el agua, es lo más)

un montón de enormes y preciosos insectos nos han acompañado estos días,
incluso llegamos a ver un jabalí paseando tan tranquilo entre los olivos
detrás de la casa de Dalí en Portlligat.
y hemos tenido suerte, este año no había ni una medusa,
aunque no es de extrañar porque el agua estaba heladísima.

thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my latest post,
hope summer/winter started well for you!

we spent five wonderful days at  cadaqués,
no internet either work!
just lots of eating and sleeping, swimming and walking.
i took with me two different readings for each time of the day,
Donald Duck and family's adventures to read in the sun,
( one of my favorite as a child)
but as the sun set down and everything got gloomy i loved to sit on a rock,
letting waves splash on my feet while reading Lovecraft's stories.

big and beautiful bugs came to say hello,
we even saw a shy wild boar walking quietly among the olive trees near the road.
luckily we didn't meet any jellyfish,
hardly surprising because water was really frozen this time.

One summer day at the coast

hola! qué tal el fin de semana?
nosotros hemos vuelto de nuestra escapada a la costa con las pilas bien cargadas,
el jueves estuvimos en las calas que hay junto a la playa de torre valentina,
necesitábamos un poco de sol, de luz, de verde y de azul.
el blog parece que también lo necesitaba,
así que he abierto las ventanas para que entre
un poco de aire fresco del exterior :)

el mar y las rocas,
el olor de los pinos y de la crema solar me transporta años atrás.
caminamos bordeando la costa,
nos bañamos y secamos al sol en las rocas,
comimos acompañados de nuestro salero y pimentero
regalo de Samedimanche ;)
dormimos una siesta a la sombra de los pinos
y nos dejamos llevar.

we are back from our trip to the coast with the batteries well charged,
we drove to Sant Antoni de Calonge on thursday,
we needed a bit of sun, green and blue.
this blog needed it too, so i've open windows to let some
fresh air in :)

sea and rocks,
smell of pine trees and sun cream takes me long ago.
we walked along the coast
we swam and lyed on the rocks, to let ourselves dry in the sun,
we had lunch (we took Samedimanche's salt and pepper little friends with us)
napped under the shade of the pines and we let ourselves go.

la costa brava todavía conserva algunos rincones mágicos,
con historias y leyendas fascinanes.
por lo visto, las torres de Sant Antoni de Calonge
se erigieron en el siglo XVI para defenderse de los piratas.
la torre junto al mar alertaba con hogueras, o el toque de un cuerno,
o mediante pañuelo rojo a la torre más cercana,
y ésta otra enviaba el mensaje a la torre del pueblo.
y hay una historia que explica el ataque que sufrió el pueblo
en manos del pirata turco Barbarroja
(bueno, del segundo Barbarroja, su hermano) en 1543.
me ha sorprendido mucho mucho su historia,
parece que estos piratas eran inteligentes,
valientes y luchaban también por una causa,
todos contra los cristianos! ;)

la Costa Brava still preserves some magical places,
with amazing stories and legends.
Sant Antoni de Calonge's towers were built in the XVI century
to defend themselves against pirates.
the tower on the beach warned by fires, or a horn,
or a red handkerchief to the nearest tower,
and this one sent another message to the tower in town.
there's a story that tells how the turkish pirate Redbeard
attacked this village in 1543.
i've been surprised by their biography (two brothers, under the same nickname), it seems as they were brave and great men.
