Embroidered Postcards workshop: The Chronicle

here are some pics of the public/free embroidery workshop we did two weeks ago

it was really well organized by 'Enganxa't al ganxet!',

40 lovely ladies joined us to embroider spring flowers with yarns onto neon cards.

it was amazing!

we run out of cards, we didn't expect so many people!

it was a great craft morning,

happy to see how people enjoyed crafting together,

learning and sharing, laughing and spreading love.

we need more!!

i got home with a super dose of good vibes and happiness, 

and very grateful.

estas son algunas de las fotos del taller gratuito que organizó 'Enganxa't al ganxet!',

fue genial, me encantó la experiencia, no lo pudimos hacer al aire libre por el fuerte viento

pero Ana y Silvia nos acomodaron en la sala del bar de Boca nord,

allí estuvimos super a gusto, nos cuidaron un montón!

la convocatoria tuvo muchísimo éxito, más del que imaginamos,

nos juntamos 40 personas bordando postales con flores de lana,

utlizamos las lanas colbert de DMC, todo un lujo de colores

que con el amarillo fosfi de la cartulina petaban!!

pasamos una mañana genial,

contamos con la presencia de Irma de Crafting Barcelona (una guía-blog craft que no os podéis perder!), conocí a las al grupito de les Conxites Felices de Badalona,

a algunas Niñas Antiguas, a Elena de Valladolid que estaba de visita por barcelona y dejó a la familia un rato para venirse a bordar con nosotras! Me alegró mucho Montserrat y a Anna del blog ecoimagina... entre otras caras conocidas.

me encantó ver a tanta gente disfrutando del bordado y de la buena compañía,

hubo tan buen rollo que volví a casa con una sobre dosis de felicidad.

gracias a toda las que vinisteis a compartir esa mañana con nosotras,

y a las que no pudisteis venir pero estáis siempre ahí,

os quieroooo!!

Taller de Bordado Gratuito / New Embroidery Workshop

beautiful embroidered flowers for tomorrow morning,
we'll be stitching onto printed cards and having fun :)
these are some tests using different colors and cardboards,
i finally chose a neon yellow one very similar to the original fabric.
we'll need sunglases because this yellow color
brights up at sunshine!

Traed tijeras para cortar papel, dedal, lápiz y un trozo de cartón tamaño postal
para apoyaros mientras agujereáis la cartulina (el cartón de las cajas es perfecto).
y GAFAS de SOL! este color peta con la luz del sol!

No se necesitarán conocimientos de bordado.
No hace falta apuntarse, la entrada es libre.
Llegad pronto para coger sitio :)

Taller GRATUÏT de Brodat

hola!
os acordáis del taller de postales bordadas que hicimos el año pasado en el jardín de Casa Sagnier?
pues este año repetimos taller con La Galeria,
lo llevaremos a Acció Cultura!
nos movemos de sitio y cambiamos la temática del taller,
esta vez bordaremos sobre postales retro de sitios turísticos para empezar a soñar con unas vacaciones de lo más idílicas,
viajaremos bordando a nuestros sitios preferidos
y nos llevaremos a casa un recuerdo de lo más kitsch.

estoy recopilando las postales más preciosas del mundo!!

pasaremos una tarde bien bonita, os apuntáis? :)

"Souvenirs d'Estiu"
Customitzarem les típiques postals de ciutats i llocs turístics més idíl·lics i kitsch amb brodats.
Gaudirem d'una bonica tarda al aire lliure entre fils i agulles, i ens portarem a casa els nostres souvenirs d'estiu.
És un taller tant per a principiants com per amants del kitsch i del DIY. No calen coneixements de costura ni de brodat, només ganes de passar-s'ho bé. Cal portar: agulles i tisores.

we are preparing another craft party embroidering postcards,
do you remember last year when La Galeria arranged a free Embroidery Workshop at the garden
it was so cool that they want to repeat,
this time we are going to include it into Acció Cultura! festival,
and we are going to embroider onto vintage postcards of cities and lovely holiday places.
just to dream a little, get fun and take our embroidered summer souvenirs home.
i'm collecting the kitschest and retro postcards, so beautiful!!
i'm really excited about this workshop,
love craftty and free activies :)

Embroidering Postcards at Casa Sagnier- the workshop!

hola!
hoy vengo cargadita de fotos del taller que hicimos de postales bordadas en Casa Sagnier.
disfrutamos un muchísimo con las postales vintage
y todos los preciosos hilos Moulinée que nos regaló para la ocasión DMC.
la gente flipó, no sabían qué hilos escoger de los colores tan bonitos que habían.
no tengo mucho que decir, las fotos hablan por sí mismas :)

salvo dar las gracias a todas las bordadoras que vineron
y los espontáneos que se unieron a nosotros,
como esos dos niños que se acercaron por voluntad propia,
(el primero fue el niño! yo estaba que me salía de alegría!!)
y estuvieron toda la tarde super concentrados bordando como dos angelitos.
vienieron a bordar algunas de las Abuelitas: Le Petit Pot, Sara Agudo, Loly de uauh!,
Julia Keller, Lola de Nona Bruna, estuvieron también dos Granny Girls: Irma y Begoña del blog Romero i Juaneta, Agni, Jess Morillo, Elena de la preciosa tienda Ada,
también estuvieron  Gretelain y Temedoy que me ha pasado algunas de sus fotos para el post, y Paula! que ya debede estar de vuelta en Almería... y una bordadora que estuvo en mi taller de totes y creo que en otro de muñecos, pero que no recuerdo su nombre... (qué mal!!)

y gracias otra vez a La Galería por organizarlo
y a DMC por el material divino!!

lots of pics and good vibes on today's post!
these are some of the images of the Embroidery Workshop the arranged at Casa Sagnier,
we spent a lovely time embroidering vintage images.
DMC sponsored us with beautiful Moulinée, so many bright and amazing colors that it was really hard to choose just one to start.

i don't have much more to say, i think that these images speak by themselves..
except to thank all the peole who joined us that day!
there was a little boy that got captivated by our funny activity and asked his mother if he could stay crafting with us.
a lovely girl who was also amazed by the meeting came later and started to embroider too.
these kids spent the rest of the afternoon embroidering enthusiasticall,
asking for a little help and making the best of themselves.
and they work it out brilliantlly.
i was so amazed and happy looking at them working!!

it was a great gang! there were some of the girls of Abuelitas Modernas: Le Petit Pot, Sara Agudo, Loly of uauh!,
Julia Keller, Lola of Nona Bruna, some Granny Girls: Irma and Begoña of Romero i Juaneta, Agni, Jess Morillo, Elena of Ada Shop, and Gretelain,
Temedoy who sent me some pictures she took taht day, and Paula!

Embroidered Postcards

hola!
cómo va todo?
hace poco encontré estas dos postales super kitsch que me robaron el corazón porque estaban bordadas, tengo debilidad por las postales antiguas!
(esas de cadaqués descoloridas son tan bonitas...)
el caso es que tenía que preparar un taller sobre ilustración aplicando técnicas de bordado y me acordé de ellas. así que me he estado imprimiendo algunas imágenes com la de esta perrita, del increíble flickr de la Agence Eureka, para practicar un poco de bordado sobre postales retro.

este martes por la tarde a partir de las 18:30
estáis invitadísimos/as a venir a la Jornada de Talleres Abiertos de Casa Sagnier,
llevaré un montón de postalitas como la del perrito para bordar sobre ellas.
a ver si nnos quedan tan bonitas como éstas!
(por cierto acabo de darme cuenta de que ambos personajes tienen la misma posición, mi cabeza se divierte jugando sóla!!)

además utilizaremos hilos Mouliné de DMC,
que van perfectos para este tipo de bordado.
así,  bordaremos como reinas ;) qué más se puede pedir?
probaremos las diferentes técnicas de bordado sobre papel
y volveréis a casa bien contentas con vuestra postalita bordada.

también estará Cristina Moreno de Fem Manuals impartiendo el "Taller de paraules al vent",
habrá otro taller de cuenta cuentos y juegos, para niños y jóvenes.
las actividades son gratuitas, si no tenéis plan para esa tarde
os podéis pasar a saludarnos y quedaros a bordar un ratito con nosotras!

i found these stunning vintage embroidered postcards and i was immediately smitten by them.
(i have a thing for vintage postcards... these beautiful faded ones are of Cadaqués)
i was asked to arrange a new workshop about embroidery and illustration,
so i thought that it would be funny to embroider onto retro images and create amazing kistch postcards!
the workshop is part of an open house at Casa Sagnier,
 Cristina Moreno de Fem Manuals will be also arranging a workshop for children,
there'll be games and lots of activities.
and we have a great sponsor: DMC
that will provide us with gorgeous Mouliné.

everybody is invited to come to join us, we'll enjoy a wonderful crafty afternoon.
i've been printing some vintage images like this doggy lady, to practise embroidering onto cardboard.
(so many samples and unfinished proiects lately...)
i downloaded it from this gorgeous flickr by Agence Eureka.
(i just noticed that both characters on the last picture are standing at the same position... my mind is always having fun!! hehe)
