instagram without smartphone

what a weird day i had on Sant Jordi,
there was, my tiny stand alone on the street
the middle of nowhere.

a yellow spot.
i met new friends...
and watched people passing by :)

and yes! i'm on instagram, still with my silly phone,
just follow this tutorial if you want to join it using your computer!
how to register or signup to instagram using your pc or mac computer
i downloaded the Android APK from here
and Grambler to upload my pics from the computer!
if you need some instagram filters to edit your images just get these photoshop actions ;)

so silly! a very funny slow (and elaborated) way to do an instant photo, haha
it will be uploaded 1 hour later from the shoot ;)

qué día más friki fue el de Sant Jordi,

mi parada estaba en medio de la calle,

o en medio de la nada, todavía no lo tengo muy claro...

era un punto amarillo en el cemento,

hice nuevas amigas...

y vi pasar a mucha gente :)

y sí! ya estoy por fin en instagram, y con mi móvil tontorrón,

me he bajado un simulador de Android, un programa para subir las fotos

y un montón de filtros parecidos a los que se utilizan.

es super ridículo, igual subo las fotos una hora después de hacerlas

y super retocadas, jeje

tan tonto!

bueno, seguid este tutorial si como yo todavía no tenéis un móvil listo y espabilado.

tomorrow is the day of the book and the city will be full of books and roses,
and everybody will be celebrating Sant Jordi's day,
me too! i'll be sharing stand with my friends of Editorial Morsa
and Walrus Editorial at Galería etHALL.
i've been preparing a little of everything from my shop,
so if you're visiting barcelona you can come and say hello :)
there'll be a free calendar on each sale!

Tendré de todo un poco: kits de totes bordados, relojes, super anillos,
colgantes, fantasmitas, muñecas de papel... a precios muy especiales :)

the fair

el día de sant jordi tuve la suerte de compartir paradita con
la editorial Morsa, Belleza infinita, Adicciones porque sí y revista Bostezo.
(los nuevos títulos que ha sacado Morsa "spanish for the foreigners", "gin tonic", "nico & sebastian"... estan super bien)

aunque no tenía muy claro el porqué, el año pasado fue traumático, no dormí casi preparándolo todo y no lo disfruté nada, este año repetí. y est vez lo pasé genial.

así que cargué mi maletín-muestrario con los relojes encima de la bici
y monté en una mesa plegable de cámping
( tuve la suerte de que me la dejaran prestada los vendedores de libros de segunda mano de la parada de enfrente :P) con el resto de cosas.

me encantó sacar mis cosas de casa, que les diera bien el aire y que vieran gente,
y que la gente las viera a ellas.
además se pasaron por allí a saludar ameskeria, Núria (de Las Coleccionistas) e Irkus, La Ballena Elena, Mónica Custodio, mi amiga Silvia y Anabel, y Vanessa...
y gente que no conocía en persona como telericatarta, Andrea (que había comprado en mi tienda en Etsy) y Santhy de miffy kitty blog! esas visitas me pusieron muy contenta :)

el encanto que tienen las Ramblas y sobretodo en una fiesta tan señalada es que todo tipo de gente se mezcla allí. turistas, gente del barrio, o de otros barrios, o de fuera de barcelona... aprovechan ese día para pasear entre libros y comprar alguna rosa.
o respirar ese ambiente.
diría que todo el público que no frecuenta blogs como el mío podría pasear por allí ese día.
esa es básicamente la gracia que le encontré.

también es cierto que todas las demás paradas estaban llenas de libros, con lo cual lo mío pegaba bastante el cante... pero bueno, me sorprendió mucho la reacción de la gente, las niñas venían rápidamente atraídas, las señoras mayores se paraban y miraban con una sonrisa recordando que, de pequeñas, los domingos solían comprarse sus relojes por 4 céntimos, y los señores y no tan señores se paraban con curiosidad...
incluso le cambié uno de mis relojes a uno de los vendedores que teníamos al lado por algunos libros de segunda mano con ilustraciones super bonitas. me propuso hacer un trueque porque quería regalarle un reloj a su madre por su 80 cumpleaños, sabía que a ella le haría gracia tener algo que por fin le detuviera un poco el tiempo. me pareció tan bonito!

i was lucky enough on Sant Jordi's Day to share stand with
Morsa publishers, Belleza infinita, Adicciones porque sí and Bostezo mag.
i was not sure why i was participating once again in this fair,
last year was too bad for me,
i lost sleep preparing everything and that day i didn't enjoy at all.
this time it was cool.

so i tied my suitcase sampler with all the fake watches to the bike that morning
and set up the rest of the things on a borrowed folding camping table
( a sweet second hand book seller game it to me it :).

i was delighted to get my stuff out from home, letting it go outside for a breath of fresh air and see people, and that people would see them.
some came to say hello: ameskeria, Núria (de Las Coleccionistas) and Irkus, La Ballena Elena, Mónica Custodio, my friend Silvia and Anabel, and Vanessa...
and people who did not know in person as telericatarta, Andrea (who had bought in my Etsy store) and Santhy from kitty miffy blog visited me too! they all made me happy :)

the Ramblas charm is that all kind of people take a walk and mix there.
tourists, locals, people from other neighborhoods, or from outside of barcelona... they all use to wander on this day through books and buy some roses. or enjoy the party street life.
i would dare to say that all the people who don't visit blogs like mine could walk there that day.
this is the great thing of this place.

telling the truth, all the other stands were full of books, so mine was like a color explosion and easily attractted attention ;)
... but hey, I was very amazed by people's reaction , girls came running, old ladies stood and watched with a smile on her faces remembering them as childs, buying fake watches on sunday morning; boys, men and old men stared with curiosity ...
i even made a great trade with one of the secondhand book sellers. i got some beautiful vintage books with gorgeous illustrations.
he wanted to giftgive one fake watch to her mother on her 80th birthday, he knew she would love to have finally something that holds time. so nice! it warmed my heart.

y sí, las galletas rosas marías me salieron muy ricas y tuvieron mucho éxito!:D
postearé otro día sobre los nuevos modelos de relojes y collares ,
esperaré unas semanas a subirlos a la tienda :)

Free cookies and new stuff on SANT JORDI's fair

las flores, ferias, presentaciones de libros y fiestas pueblan barcelona
estos días y nos obligan a salir de golde del letargo invernal.
somos víctimas de una maratón de eventos culturales y sociales a los que no estamos acostumbrados, al menos yo.
no me quejo, está muy bien... pero preferiría que fuesen un poco más repartidos a lo largo del año.
tengo que contaros todas las actividades y ferias a las que he asistido, muchas y muy chulas,
pero será en el próximo post :)

ahora OS QUIERO INVITAR a que me hagáis un visitilla el día de Sant Jordi,
la editorial Morsa me ha ofrecido compartir stand.
estaremos al final de las Ramblas, justo delante de la Plaça del Teatre,
al lado del Museo Sta. Mónica.
quiero hacer estas galletas de arándanos y chocolate,
y éstas otras galletas saladas para acompañar el vino que sacarán por la tarde!
las he llamado Rosa Marías para tener alguna rosa que regalar ese día a quien se acerque a saludar :)

estoy preparando un montón de novedades y definitivamente me he vuelto loca con el tema de los relojes de mentira,
estoy fabricando mi maletín muestrario de relojes,
emulando a los vendedores ambulantes que viajaban con sus muestrarios en una maleta,
y estoy montando algunos collares nuevos con cuentas plasticosas y scoobidoos!
he visto estos collares y no me he podido resistir a probar esos colores.

so flowers have bloomed... lots of fairs, parties and other activities have come out this month in Barcelona.
too many events are suddenly making us wake up from winter lethargy.
i'm not complaining, i'm having a very good time and meeting interesting people and stuff, but i'm not used to this crazy social life, spending the whole day out... i'm very, very homey.
i'll post about all these great social life on the next post :)

St. George's Day is a lovely bank holiday, the city is full of books and roses.
i'll bake these cookies with crandberries and chocolate, and these salty cookies too.
i called them Rose Maries, to giftgive "these roses" to people who come to say hello :)

i'm preparing new things to sell this day,
love to play with plastic beads for new necklaces.
i saw these inspiring ones and i want to use these colors too!!
and... believe me when i say that i'm clearly crazy about fake watches,
because i'm making a fake watches suitcase sampler!!
as the salesmen use to carry long ago.

lo dicho, estaremos en las Ramblas el día de Sant Jordi,
podéis venir a cotillear, para llevaros una galleta Rosa María, ver algunas de mis muñecas en vivo y en directo, o los nuevos modelos de relojes...
también podéis pasaros para preguntarme vuestras dudas sobre bordado.
o a decir hola :)
el día será muy largo y habrá tiempo para todo.
ah! y a las 8 habrá vinito. será divertido!

Sant Jordi in Las Ramblas

si alguna vez tenéis que que montar una paradita para vender cosas
no paséis la noche en vela preparándolo todo, hacedme caso.
eso no se debe hacer.
yo parece que todavía no lo he aprendido.
no dormí nada y me pasé todo el día zombi.
preparé algunas cositas nuevas que os iré enseñando esta semana
y subiré muy pronto a la tienda.
de momento os dejo algunas imágenes
del bonito día de Sant Jordi en las Ramblas,
todo un privilegio poder estar ahí.
Gracias a Gabri de Editorial Morsa que me invitó a compartir stand,
junto con la Editorial Belleza infinita,

don't stay up preparing everything the night before
you shouldn't do it! take notice of this, please :)

i still haven't learned this lesson.
i did not sleep and i spent all day worn out.
i prepared some new things that i'll be show you this same week.
for the moment i leave some pictures of
the beautiful day of Sant Jordi in Las Ramblas
being there on that date was just a privilege.
Gabriel of Editorial Morsa invited me to share that lovely place, Editorial Belleza infinita,
Ediciones Buck, Chuso Ordi and fanzine Cala Reona were selling their great stuff too.
i'd liked to be friendlier and nicer,
but being awake made feel lost in thought for the whole day.
next time ... i'll go to bed very early :)
